I feel a little silly posting this but I have owned a pile of old trucks but nothing of this vintage. The price was so low I couldnt pass it up. Sorta bought it for yard art but it has a complete motor which I find remarkable so I might spend some time and see if she will fire. The old guy I bought it from said it’s just a Ford bed but not a Ford cab. I thought it was a 35 Ford ? Can anybody tell me about this truck ?

It's older than the Ford trucks I grew up with by a few decades (guessing late 30s/early 40s), but that little straight 6 should be a very simple rebuild project if you were so inclined.

The grill is a 1935 Chevy 1 1/2 ton from the looks of it. The cab is not a 1935 based on the windshield shape being rounded and not straight. It could be a 1936 or later Chevy 1 1/2 ton cab or something completely different.

Why would someone put a Ford rear bumper on a Chevy???

It sounds like it might be a bit of a Frankenstein. Got it how late last night by the grace of god. Weather got really bad. Once this storm passes I’ll spend some time poking around and see if I can learn anything about it.

I don’t work on them or build them or anything, but I think old trucks are awesome. I’m really grateful that there are people who do restore them.

Old vehicle projects are one of my primary interests outside of hunting. I grew up with Early Broncos (1966-1977), and my next project is to find one and fix it up into a hunting/skiing rig.

My 1935 ford truck has a V grill somewhat like that but with a sharper V @ the bottom of the grill.

Looks close but not exact

Sold my first bronco build last winter (too nice to use OFFROAD). Collecting parts to get my next bronco off the ground and building as a Colorado off road rig
