Official Montana 2022 draw thread!

This year:

• Non-res general deer combo after buying 3 preference points. [Am zero for 3 since 2019.]
• Single application.
• Easy "no" this year to pay $100 for another pref point. Would have cost me +$250 in PPs to get one $700+ deer tag ! I did not draw with 3PPs in 2021.
• Still banking bonus points for later date.

Are you sure you had three points at the time of the draw and they didn’t clear them? They show 127 3pp applicants in 2021 and 127 drew the tag. The first 75% of tags go to the highest point holders

That’s a gamble, this will likely be the first year that 2pp isn’t 100% draw odds

A buddy and I applied w 0 PP for General elk tag. Draw odds were around 70% last year if I am reading the regs right.

Group of three all put in individually. My dad went in with 2pp(him drawing was my priority), my buddy and I each put in with 0pp due to the likelihood that no one between 1-1.99999 points will draw this year.

You cannot enter 270 and a second choice. 270 is an unlimited permit and must be your first and only choice. Disclaimer: At least that’s the way it was for the first 10 years after 270 went to permit. I haven’t checked this year’s regs.

Yes good luck bsnedeker. Would like to hunt deer someday in 270, but I think there's less than 10 permits for non residents. Probably never happen in my lifetime.
