Since the application period had officially ended figured it was time to start such a thread.

Post what you applied for and number of preference points (or unit and bonus points if applicable.) Once the results are posted edit and post whether you were successful.

Curious what kind of preliminary data we can gather with the recent changes.

Applied for the Big game combo with 1 preference point this year.

Like many I almost went zero, but MT is a backup this year with plans to be back in 23 or 24.

I’ll edit and update with a poll once the results post.

Bought a half price nr Montana deer combo otc about a week ago. Applied for a deer permit with 14 points, not saying where.

Applied for big game combo, and LE elk units for the bow with 4 points. 1st has a 47% and 2nd has like 70%.

We are in the same boat since I hunted Montana last year and going into the draw with 1 point and my two buddies have 2. I'm bringing the group down and not feeling good about our chances unless the price of everything this year keeps the NR numbers down.

Went in solo for the deer combo with 1 preference point. Applied for the limited entry with 2 bonus points. We will see!

This year:

• Non-res general deer combo after buying 3 preference points. [Am zero for 3 since 2019.]
• Single application.
• Easy "no" this year to pay $100 for another pref point. Would have cost me +$250 in PPs to get one $700+ deer tag ! I did not draw with 3PPs in 2021.
• Still banking bonus points for later date.

Group elk combo with 0 points. LE is the Elkhorns. I'm not positive of the odds, but I think we have about an 85% chance at the LE draw.

Elk Combo with 2 PP, LE archery permit with 10 points.
