Nosler mountain carbon

What’s the general consensus on this rifle? Anyone own one? I am potentially looking at this rifle in a 280 ackley or 6.5 prc as a elk/deer rifle.

Nosler Model 48 Review - Sporting Rifle magazine

I first came across Nosler rifles by mistake. Browsing through a gun trading website for a new rifle, my search for a 7-08 Rem gave up half a dozen results. Of these only two tickled my fancy, and a Nosler Custom 48 was one of them.

I think it depends on what you want out of the rifle. If you're going to shoot factory ammo then I think they are fine rifles. If you are going to shoot heavy for caliber, high bc, bullets their box is a little short to get max performance.

I live a few miles from Nosler headquarters and know a few people who work there. I could get a rifle at a nice discount but because of the bullets I choose to shoot their rifles weren't an option for me.

I have recently acquired one in 6.5 PRC. As called out the mag box is too short. I have been reliably getting .6 @100 using 127 GR LRX’s setting COAL at 2.885. Still early in load development and have been using MRP and Retumbo. Decent rifle for its weight.
