Noodle Barrel 6UM

Pretty close to the same weight as a .750 taperless.
I've asked Ace about a 750 taperless a few times now, they keep asking me to send in a barrel for them to measure. I really don't want to buy a PVA or PBB blank just for them to map.

This is awesome. It's what I was hoping to find for the next 6UM I build.
Are you shooting the same load as usual? That's only 40 fps behind my 24" Bartlein with 68.2 grains of N570 and 115 DTACs

Any specific length? I have a 24” and 20” PBB .750 taperless that will be pulled in the next 6-8 weeks
I’d happily send it off, my wife’s garden doesn’t need any more tomato stakes

I have an 18” PBB .750” taperless about to arrive. If Ace wanted, I’d be willing to send it to them to map.

Can you weigh it? Pretty sure the 20” is around 2.5 pounds

Any idea if this is a barrel contour that just anyone can order? I want the exact same barrel in 6mm creedmoor for my daughters tikka
From Mark at Ace.

The name of the light barrel will be" Tikka elaphros" they will be $50.00 more at this time 22 and 6mm will be the only offerings maximum length of 22". We are working on the light weight Sporter contour.

Why can't they just go off a drawing like anyone else does? I have a PVA 224 .750 taperless that came in a couple of days ago. I'll weigh it. I think it's 25". I'll load it up in a barrel weight calculator to see what 20" and 6mm might be.

I was wrong. My PVA 224 27" .750 taperless blank is 3lb 9oz. Calculator says a 6mm .750 taperless 20" long threaded and chambered will be close to 2lb 9oz. I think what I had in my head was a heavily fluted weight which would be ~2lb 4oz. Shortening the shank an 1" would get a couple more ounces off it.

A Douglas #1 would be very similar and their featherweight would be slightly lighter at 20"

I'll teach out to Ace again, see what they say. If you guys have a dead barrel, that'd be a plus! I think thre 750 taperless is a great contour for a short barrel rig keeping weight to a minimum.

Anyone had the 750 fluted?

I have some sort of false memory of a thinner taperless profile designed for .5x28 threading. Can’t find on their site. Am I nuts?

I recall seeking a 650 or 680 no taper at one point in time.
