Nomad in a treestand?

Has anybody tried using their Nomad in a treestand?

Similarly to the Game Plan Gear BowBat.... I'm thinking you could open the Nomad's wings, throw a strap or two around a tree, use the Nomad in a treestand for a backrest, and have small items on the sides (and back) right at your disposal. Seems like it would work well. Just looking for some first hand experience or thoughts on this idea.

The Nomad is used on a Frame. I definitely would not want to ascend my treestand with my duplex on. Its also not made to organize a dozen small things for a stand either. Being in NY I hunt treestands religiously. I have tried every new thing to come to market. My $40 Gander Mountain day pack works best.

Interesting thought hammer. I've been using my 22 frame and 22Mag the past few weeks in the stand and it's been great. Granted, I hang it from a hook beside me but the layout has been good so far. Just thought having the 22 frame & Nomad wrapped backwards around the tree is a good idea and eliminates the need to put an extra hook in the tree. Thanks for chiming in.

I just use a longhunter lid with a length of 1" webbing wrap around the tree using the ladder locks by the zipper

This sounds doable to me, I already use my nomad/duplex to haul my climber in. I have just been hanging it on a hook on my right side, but I'm going to try this idea as soon as I can. Thanks for the cool idea mrbillbrown!

not sure what type of stand you're using but if i had a pack between my back and the tree using my lone wolf hand climber my butt would be hanging way off the seat.

I'm interested too. To see a good way to haul a stand. And gear that is not only secure but fast to deploy and pack up. Iv been thinking a mountain rambler or tahr, and sandwiching the stand between the frame and bag.

I have a bikini frame, and iv used it along with an e&e to haul my stand and supplies, but it just seems like too much sometimes and really a stand is tough to secure. Not to mention iv always been worried about chewing up my $350 frame with some of the sharp metal that is on my stand.

Tried a spike camp and that worked ok, should have never sold that little pack for other reasons.

Lately iv just been gutting it and using the plain old backpack straps that came with my lone wolf, that and attaching my e&e to the stand. I also have a kifaru duffle, I'll throw that over my shoulder with a jacket and other bulky items if needed. The duffle takes up no room when empty once I put my layers on in the stand.

And the e&e with it's countless number of attachment points for pockets and accessories makes the perfect tree stand pack.

I use a grab it and 1 compression strap on my bikini to hold my hang on. Then I use the lid as my pack. Not perfect, but it gets the job done.
Just did it this past weekend.

Climbing sticks are more of a problem, but that could be the cheapo sticks I have just aren't packable.
