My son and I are planning a three day trip to Jackson Hole and the Grand Teton Natl Park. We’ll probably take a 1/2 day guided fishing trip and spend that day in town. We may take a ride up to Yellowstone or go hiking.

Does anyone have some suggestions or recommendations?

Also, does anybody have some first hand recommendations for fishing guide services. Tentatively, we’re thinking about a 1/2 day float trip.

Thanks

My wife and I did a float trip last year in August. The Snake River was moving fast so we could never get the boat to hangout in a good spot for any period of time. I think we caught 3 Cutthroat between us. It was a lot of fun but next time I'll be fishing from the banks.

We have been during the first week of October and it was great. The Jenny lake hike is highly recommend. Beautiful country. We are hoping to get back soon.

It's been 20 years, so take it for what it's worth but check out Mangis Fishing Guides. I fished with Klay back then and it was awesome. His son has since took over. Good luck!

That's the guide we used as well, would recommend them.

We had our family vacation there last year and spent the week in and around Jackson. My favorite part of the trip was renting a SXS. They allow you to ride right through the middle of town which was very cool. They gave us a map and told us which trails to ride on outside of town. We did the 3 hour rental but, if I were to go back, I'd do the all day rental and hit some of the trails further out of town. It was a lot of fun and allowed us to see more beautiful country all the while looking across the valley at the Tetons. If possible, I think I would try to spend a few more days in the area instead of just 3 days. Lots to see & do in Jackson Hole.

JH is one of our favorite out west vacation spots. Lots to see and do. We always get up early and stay out "hunting" till dark. As mentioned, Jenny Lake hike to falls and Inspiration POint is a great view. There's a restaurant in Teton Village you ride the gondola up to. The air is thin up there but views spectacular. Tying in Yellowstone will be a long day, but if ya'll head out before daylight, making a counterclockwise loop through Hayden valley up to the GrandCanyon of Yellowstone to see the falls and artist point, then head west and loop through and see Grand Prismatic hot spring and Old Faithful will be a great day hitting the high points in the south end of the park.

Have fun!!
