Up i betso does this mean used NXS scopes will go up or down in value....?
If that was a real hotdog (must be topped with beanless chili), you wouldn’t be able to see the center of the illuminated reticle at all!Looking at a reticle graphic against a blank background isn’t that helpful. You really need to overlay it over something useful.
I present FC-MRx and a hotdog sandwich -

Ehhh what are you talking about. The 4ai is a plain German 4, 2FP moa reticle.then we have that version available ...
I've been out of it for a couple years, but everyone that could place toward the top could dial 9 or 10 times in a 90 second stage and do well. The only time any of us held over was on enormous targets or when the cof forced it. I'm not sure if there are uses in military applications, but in hunting/prs shooting there are better methods than hold over.No one that holds over in competition wins. You dial elevation, and hold wind just like everywhere else.
The problem is, most people that buy this stuff don't actually shoot. I got into it with the engineers at a large optics company about how their most expensive scope couldn't hold zero for a car ride in a pelican case (guess who). They told me, "No one else is complaining."Already answered, but no. No one is holding over and winning in matches. The reticle was not optimized for anything except to please the “gas gun” shooters that don’t actually use them.
Is a hotdog a sandwich?
LiGhTwEiGhT aNd cOmPaCt - it’s an ounce lighter than the 4-32 NX8 and a half inch longer.
well you wanted a mil ffp one with a different reticle, you still have other german builders that might offer it. for the kind of hunts im doing and some others that contacted nightforce customer service: we were heard ... for long range shooting i have other options so im not worried but each case and hunter is different on their needs.Ehhh what are you talking about. Bushnell LRHS and LRHS2.example? Every ffp reticle I have ever seen disappears at low mag ranges unless you turn on the illum.
I saw that you posted that the S2H scope needs to be tested first, and the way it was worded didn’t inspire confidence that it was going to be a first round success.
Before NF released the nx6, there really wasn’t an F1 scope to use the thlr reticle in, because the f1 nxs was permanently discontinued. Now at least there is a decent host for that reticle.
The 4-16 ATACR was my preference too, but I know that the market for a 30 oz. 34mm tube scope that costs $2500+ wasn’t/isn’t very big. I have zero interest in the SHV or NX8 line.Oh that’s just me expecting everything to fail, and not counting chickens before they hatch. The most likely scenario is that they do work.
Not to belabor the point, but the first scope that was put forth to put the TLHR in was the 4-16x44mm ATACR (which would still be my preference). Then the SHV 4-14x F1, then the 4-32x NX8. Beyond that, multiple entities/people have tried to have real talks about getting a simple, very bold reticle like a modified MLR or Mil dot put in.
I hope you can get them to make a proper bold hunting reticle, and I/we would happily help if you wanted. I just don’t know at this point if the THLR is the way I would go.
I say that because most of the people that would be interested in a near $2k scope with THLR just bought a bunch of ZP5’s, and there is about to be a $1k option.
If you get NF to put a THLR in the 2-12x or 3-18x- I’ll buy the first one however.

To me, it seems like there would be greater interest in a 23 oz. 30mm tubed, 2-12 scope with a decent hunting reticle, but it seems like everyone has something to complain about, and different wants/needs, especially with an $1800 price.
It’s probably going to take a 500-1k scope demand to achieve anything. I’d be curious to know what Mavens 1.2 RS sales were initially.
If Rokstok sales, SWFA 3-9 and 6x sales, and initial Maven 1.2 mil reticle sales are/were any indicator (all were sold out at one point, and Swfa currently is sold out), once this community identifies a worthwhile product, there IS more than enough volume. There are probably more examples that I am missing. The 4-16 ATACR was my preference too, but I know that the market for a 30 oz. 34mm tube scope that costs $2500+ wasn’t/isn’t very big. Have you also approached Trijicon? It seems like the 3-18 tenmile with a hunting reticle would also be a hot ticket, but it's essentially the same scope as the rs1.2?It would sell. But everyone is apparently scared to just make a run of simple, clean, bold, mil reticles. Even though the closest scope to get it right- Maven RS1.2 sold like gamgbusters.
Ehh. Mostly it’s just dudes with poorly thought out wish lists. 6 months ago a 2-12x NX6 with an old school mil dot would have sold.
Way beyond 500. But, that’s a large number for $2,000 scopes.
