Has anyone swapped out the recoil pad on this? If so, which did you go with? I see there’s a couple different ones, literally not many choices. I think one was from backfire shops. Seemed ok from some research. I have not had hands on mine yet as I’m still waiting for the stock but just wondering if it’s like a legit required upgrade. There’s a lot of people saying the stock recoil pad is complete garbage but it works. It will be 6.5PRC.

Bought my second hand HNT26 with the backfire pad. It's for my 7RM and I can shoot it all day. Recoil impulse is more like someone pushing your shoulder with their hand. Have zero interest in trying the thin stock pad.

I have used the Limbsaver Airtech. It was easy to drill an additional hole and it mounted right up. Almost any pad can be used. It is night and day difference on the felt recoil. It is squishy which some people don't like but I really do.

Another vote on the backfire pad on my HNT26. Its a huge improvement over the regular MDT one. much more comfortable recoil impulse, especially when prone.

I prefer the OBI cush pad as it does well and I didn't want to have to use a case for my recoil pad like with the Backfire one.

Zeroed in outdoors also makes a spacer that will get the buttpad above bore and help with muzzle rise too.

The case is for storage purposes only from the videos I seen on it.

FWIW, they did a sale last month that knocked another $10 off. I'd imagine they would do a 4th of July sale.
Yes I am in no rush in buying. I’m hoping I’m at the half way point in my waiting period. Through MDT there’s a 10 week backorder. I ordered from a 3rd party along with other items that I’m waiting for maybe 8 weeks now. I’m hoping I see some movement early July. If not I’ll give them a call and see what’s going on with everything.

Ive got a Lil 6 creed build coming along thats going to use a hnt26. Probably 7-8#

Planning on using that spacer kit to shift the buttpad higher. But is it also worth getting the backfire pad?

I went back to the OEM pad with my 6cm when I swapped the zeroed in outdoors spacer bc lop was too long with the obi cush pad. I had it leftover from when I had a magnum la hnt 26 so I figured might as well use it. But if I was starting from scratch, don't think an aftermarket pad is needed for cartridges less than 6.5 cm. 6.5 cm coin flip. Bigger cartridges probably yes.
