My buddy and I submitted as individuals on 3/27 at the exact same time. His was approved 3/30 and mine was approved 4/6, a whole week later. Both received ATF emails. Not sure I understand why the variance occurs but I wouldn't stress it yet.

The transferee's email address defaults to the transferor, it is up to the person inputting the form to change that during submission.

I got the email from eforms when it was submitted I assume that means I should get it when approved

Yes, they are still sending emails. No issues with that on my two most recent purchases.

I wonder if this is a change from before the new year, and if a bunch of SOTs didn’t notice and change the email, thus causing so many buyers to not be notified?

That makes more sense than ATF randomly not notifying a significant number of buyers, as I would have to imagine it’s an automated process.
