Tomato/Potatoe man…It is not.
I guess the pictures with the Christmas lights look pretty neighborhoody... I am admittedly unfamiliar with the area.
I haven't thought any one in this thread was jealous of it. There's significant difference between jealousy and disapproval.
When these things appear questionable and get publicized to great extents, it's a bad look. If that guy had kept it low-key, very few people would know and there would be no scrutiny. Instead, he greenlights his insta kid to post it with a bunch of tags, does OL articles, and podcast about it.
Like I said, I'm sure he's a nice guy, this just seems like a weird scenario to publicize.
Most of us are able to recognize a discernible difference between a water hole or crop field and a bucket of apples. It’s all the same thing as dumping out a bucket of apples
Not really. But you do you. I corrected someone for referring to a city when they had intended to refer to the tribe. You seem to take enough issue with it to make what appears to be a bad joke.Tomato/Potatoe man
Just adding to the spirit of this entire thread, which is dumb and silly, with some light hearted yaki-talk, I’m sorry if it has offended your town, or tribe. We can do a land acknowledgment if that makes you feel better? Not really. But you do you. I corrected someone for referring to a city when they had intended to refer to the tribe. High 380’s and one in the 400’s. They were the same year with the same outfitterBack to back 400s in Idaho a couple years ago too.
I’m not offended. I think you mistook my point. Keep your edge sharp, Lord.Just adding to the spirit of this entire thread, which is dumb and silly, with some light hearted yaki-talk, I’m sorry if it has offended your town, or tribe. We can do a land acknowledgment if that makes you feel better?
Reading this thread, I've felt the same way. Therehas been guys here unhappy or however you want to describe it, because he has money. Also because he hunted over bait and used cameras and a team of people to help him. All of this stuff is legal, not immoral or IMO unethical.what a bunch of elitist self-righteous blowhards on this thread. wash and oregon allow baiting. so what? so do a lot of other states. get over it. it is legal elk that took the dude the whole season to shoot so it couldn't have been to easy. it will probably be crowned the world record. if i had that kind of money i would be a huntin fool too.
Having attempted unsuccessfully to bait elk and deer in Oregon and Washington a few times, I’ll take a waterhole or alfalfa field 10 out of 10 times over a bait pile.
People who think it’s cheating most of the time have never done it.
That’s just because you want to justify it to your self. If you look at it from an objective view point there is no difference. It’s using some thing to gain an advantage to kill an animal. Most of us are able to recognize a discernible difference between a water hole or crop field and a bucket of apples.
So just to clarify, you're saying that a watering hole in an animals natural habitat (say on forest service land) and a bucket of apples/hay put out in a subdivision on private property in a wintering ground is the same thing? That’s just because you want to justify it to your self. Yep with the water hole being a far superior use especially if water is in short supplySo just to clarify, you're saying that a watering hole in an animals natural habitat (say on forest service land) and a bucket of apples/hay put out in a subdivision on private property in a wintering ground is the same thing?

The Real Story Behind the Casey Brooks Bull, the Pending World Record Elk
After remaining quiet for months amid criticism from other hunters, Casey Brooks is finally ready to share his side of the story.www.outdoorlife.com

It takes 30 seconds to dump out a 5 gallon pail of apples…food plots/fruit trees/water holes require time/energy/money. The result of drawing in animals might be the same, but the energy and time it takes to improve the land benefits the animal welfare/herd. Baiting is simply done to kill an animal.Yep with the water hole being a far superior use especially if water is in short supply
I agree. Morrison was baiting the elk so he could hopefully get the sheds. He even accused Brooks of harassing the big bull to get him to drop his sheds early. I’m guessing Morrisons bait pile had more to do with the elk being there than Brooks pile, since it was only two days old. Also the fact that Brooks offered him replica sheds tells me that’s what he was after, otherwise why did Brooks offer that.? I know if I legally killed any animal and the neighboring LO treats me like that, I’d only offer him a warm glass of shut the hell up'Brooks also says he couldn’t stand to leave bad blood with Morrison, as Brooks takes his role as a bowhunting ambassador seriously. He says the two men spoke after the hunt ended, and he offered to give Morrison a pair of replica sheds.
Morrison tells OL, “I said you can shove them right up your ass.” However Brooks says Morrison accepted the offer in front of witnesses, and that he is a man of his word and will present him with the replica sheds regardless of what Morrison publicly states.'
lol --- Morrison sounds like a real piece of work ...
Maybe even a Drama Llama...
