If I had to pick up a new one right now... I'd get the last of the Tundra 5.7s.

My prediction is the V8 Tundras will hold value like crazy when Toyota kills them off next year.

They're definitely a dated design, but they're pretty much bulletproof.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery

I'd be getting a GMC Sierra SLT/Denali or a Chevy Silverado LTZ/High Country

U looking for 1/2 ton or 3/4?
Gas or diesel?

thats exactly what I just did. I buy cars for the long haul and added a crew max to my 2002 tundra. It might be a dated design to a lot of folks, but going from an 02 to a 21 it’s like jumping in the lap of luxury and technology. My 02 literally came with a tape deck. Ha!!

I just bought a '21 Ford F150 XLT. The interior changes really made a difference. Better seats, bigger screen, dash layout, etc. Found one with max tow package. 0% for 72 months

Driving a Chevy Silverado Crew right now. I will more than likely go with a GMC next time around. I have had good luck with the 2017 Chevy but I like the looks of the GMC slightly more and the new chevys arent bad but they arent blowing my skirt up.
Regardless Im letting things simmer down a bit and not trading until they got a few more trucks on the lot. Not really in a hurry in anyway. I just like to trade every three or four years.

We just got a 2021 crewmax Tundra. Came from a 09 F150 and the difference is astonishing. Toyota is known to hold value and last forever, which we are hoping.

I hope to never buy another truck. I really like the 17 Chevy I have right now. Its a half ton with the 6.2 motor. I love this truck a lot. I hope it lasts forever even though I know it won't.

Currently have a 21 Sierra SLT with the 3.0 Duramax. I have been very pleased. interior is very comfortable and even the basic options I have are more than enough. The mileage is awesome, can average 30 without much effort (4x4 and 6.5' bed). Have towed a 35 horse tractor and an atv in the bed and got 16 mpg going 70 on the highway. Only regret, I wish I had held off for an AT4, but planning to get there with mods over time.

I got rid of my 06 Duramax to get the Toyota. The 06 was a tank, still ran strong but with 300k miles things were bound to fail.

if you are looking for fuel economy, the tundra is not it.

I have a 21 F-150 on order. That 3.5 ecoboost is proven, and the trucks are sharp as hell.

Prayers for a quick recovery sir. Purchased a new 2020 Tundra last year and couldn’t be happier.

I was out looking a few months back. What they consider a deal is $2,000-$4000 over sticker.. I told the guy I left my KY at home and walked out.

Selecting a truck is a uniquely personal thing based on your usage. A Tundra is fine until you plan to go waaay off-road and won't be near civilization for days. I tend to be that guy so I drive a Ram 1500 Ecodiesel which nearly doubles my range and provides more than enough torque to climb some sketchy spots. Tundra's suck fuel like it's free. No thanks. I'm not strapping six gas cans to my vehicle.

The Ram Limited is very comfortable inside. Nice for those long, multi-state drives.

I love the mileage I get at high freeway speeds.

I refuse to buy a truck new. Can't treat it like a glorified wheel barrel that way you should. Every slight ding and scratch will bother you, better to buy a slightly used one and apply the savings to convert it into something you like. I turned this mall-cruising puddle-sniffer (that I bought for $3400.00 under KBB) into a badass backcountry brute.

Threw a Bedrug and Kodiak Canvas truck tent on it and am ready for anywhere.

You need to select the vehicle that meets YOUR needs. How you intend to use it is all that matters. Your biggest expense is fuel so factor those hard costs into your long term costs.
A Tundra gets 13-18mpg so it doesn't begin to compete well with many others.

  • Ford F-150 2WD Diesel | 23 MPG.
  • Hyundai Santa Cruz AWD | 23 MPG.
  • GMC Canyon 2WD Diesel | 23 MPG.
  • Chevrolet Colorado 2WD Diesel | 23 MPG.
  • Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel | 24 MPG.
  • Ford F-150 2WD PowerBoost Hybrid | 25 MPG.
  • GMC Sierra 1500 2WD Diesel | 26 MPG.
