Elk as well.Do you hunt elk as well or mostly a deer guy?

If you decide to go with a PH2, I'm sure you'll be able to find plenty on here soon. Including mine.Definitely going to be buying a seekins in the very near future. Torn between a new one or finding an element/ph2 on the cheap.
I like the adjustable stock on the new ones, however not a must have. Going to try out a buddies element tomorrow to see how it feels/fits.
Hahah yes, that’s my thought. Shouldn’t be too hard.If you decide to go with a PH2, I'm sure you'll be able to find plenty on here soon. Including mine.
I'm curious on this as well. Will Seekins continue to offer the option to rebarrel the PH2s?
To add a data point of opinion, my first thought was 6.5 creed and PRC. Cheaper practices, and keep rounds off the barrel burner.Which caliber/barrel combination are most tempting? I would also be curious to know what your current lineup is and how you'd intend to use it.
I’m curious where this “2x4 grip” thing comes from?? I didn’t think I’d like the grip, but now I don’t want a rifle without it. Have you put a few hundred or even thousand of rounds through one of these to have a more educated opinion, or have you just looked at them and held them a few times. The more I shot mine, the more I have become accustomed to it and find it absolutely amazing now. And I’ve never even noticed the texture of the stock. It looks fine to me.Gross, cheap, ugly. If nobody ever says it outloud, Seekins won't provide options. It's not like I'm talking about wives here.
EDIT: I'm making a point about the texture, and a bit less of a point about the 2x4 grip, not the overall gun. As I mentioned, I think they're great guns, and yes, my taste in texture is absolutely personal. I'm not the only one who feels this way. That waffle grip on a 2x4 is like crawling into the driver's seat of an Aston Martin, and grabbing onto a pink fur-covered steering wheel cover. Not to yuck your yum, but that should be an option, not a factory requirement.
It doesn’t not on the previous havak models, I believe the PH3s will also just be a two position non locking safteyDoes the safety lock the bolt down on any of Seekins Rifles?
Bummer. That's the one thing I don't like about my PH2. If the bolt doesn't lock, then it ends up coming open when I'm carrying it over my shoulder. It doesn’t not on the previous havak models, I believe the PH3s will also just be a two position non locking saftey
Salesmen at Scheels are paid on commission. They’re literally paid to lie to you. Doesn’t mean everything they say is wrong, but I’d definitely take it with a grain of salt.I did, unfortunately, I even asked the sales guy if they were releasing something new and was told they were clearing out inventory that has been there a while.
I just bought a 7mm rem mag PH2 in December...I bit on the $200 off at Scheels. Luckily, I haven't put any rounds through it and I can exchange for the PH3. I was a little hesitant with a 26" barrel, but the 22" barrel is a nice sweet spot.
The Scheels rep i talked to today didn't have any idea on the timing on getting them in. His best guess was in February some time - anyone have any information on availability?
Also, I'm not super familiar with using Mlok bipods on bolt guns. I have a Magpul on my DMR AR, but they attached via screws, and are kind of a pain to get on and off, so I generally just leave it attached. Are there any decent "quick detach" type Mlok bipods out there?

That’s might be the only thing that keeps me from buying a PH3. Everything else looks fanatic, but I only use tikka, browning, Kimber, etc because of the bolt lock option. Just had too many issues with rem 700 without the bolt lock getting pulled open while hunting. It doesn’t not on the previous havak models, I believe the PH3s will also just be a two position non locking saftey
