I hope stock companies make options for these, I really like the 60 degree bolt throw and new barrel lengths but the stock/chassis options don’t intrigue me. Have really been thinking about the ph2 in 7prc but the 26” has kept me thinking instead of buying

Definitely going to be buying a seekins in the very near future. Torn between a new one or finding an element/ph2 on the cheap.

I like the adjustable stock on the new ones, however not a must have. Going to try out a buddies element tomorrow to see how it feels/fits.

If you decide to go with a PH2, I'm sure you'll be able to find plenty on here soon. Including mine. :)

If PH2 NRL models get marked down steep enough i might struggle to not buy.. Edit: does it need to be a current model to be valid in NRL factory class? I.E. is the PH2 NRL in 6 creed even a valid option now?

Has anyone heard anything about continued replacement barrel support for 4 lug Havak actions?

I think I’m sold on the 6.5 prc ph3 in 20” barrel so I can eventually add a can. Anyone now how long till we can preorder from scheels or how long it would take for me to get mine? Been looking for a good antelope and mule deer gun that my gf can potentially use for elk too

I've really liked the 2 seekins rifles I've owned (PH1 6CM and a Element in 6.5 PRC). Will be nice to try the PH3 at some point. I don't think I'll be ditching my Element anytime soon, but never say never haha.

Gross, cheap, ugly. If nobody ever says it outloud, Seekins won't provide options. It's not like I'm talking about wives here.

EDIT: I'm making a point about the texture, and a bit less of a point about the 2x4 grip, not the overall gun. As I mentioned, I think they're great guns, and yes, my taste in texture is absolutely personal. I'm not the only one who feels this way. That waffle grip on a 2x4 is like crawling into the driver's seat of an Aston Martin, and grabbing onto a pink fur-covered steering wheel cover. Not to yuck your yum, but that should be an option, not a factory requirement.
I’m curious where this “2x4 grip” thing comes from?? I didn’t think I’d like the grip, but now I don’t want a rifle without it. Have you put a few hundred or even thousand of rounds through one of these to have a more educated opinion, or have you just looked at them and held them a few times. The more I shot mine, the more I have become accustomed to it and find it absolutely amazing now. And I’ve never even noticed the texture of the stock. It looks fine to me.

I did, unfortunately, I even asked the sales guy if they were releasing something new and was told they were clearing out inventory that has been there a while.
Salesmen at Scheels are paid on commission. They’re literally paid to lie to you. Doesn’t mean everything they say is wrong, but I’d definitely take it with a grain of salt.

I just bought a 7mm rem mag PH2 in December...I bit on the $200 off at Scheels. Luckily, I haven't put any rounds through it and I can exchange for the PH3. I was a little hesitant with a 26" barrel, but the 22" barrel is a nice sweet spot.

The Scheels rep i talked to today didn't have any idea on the timing on getting them in. His best guess was in February some time - anyone have any information on availability?

Also, I'm not super familiar with using Mlok bipods on bolt guns. I have a Magpul on my DMR AR, but they attached via screws, and are kind of a pain to get on and off, so I generally just leave it attached. Are there any decent "quick detach" type Mlok bipods out there?

You can do the Spartan system. Have a low profile mlok adapter and pop the Spartan pro in and out with ease. I carry my bipod in a little pouch they sell horizontally under my binos on my harness. It’s super light, fast and effective. I used it this year for a quick 300 yard shot on an elk.

Bummer. That's the one thing I don't like about my PH2. If the bolt doesn't lock, then it ends up coming open when I'm carrying it over my shoulder.

Right. I have seen this on friend’s rifle enough times to consider a locking bolt mandatory. This year my buddy was so getting so pissed that his new $3k Proof rifle, would have the bolt open after a hike… the best was after a day in the field during a decent snow. We meet up to start the hike back to truck and his bolt is open, round ejected and action full of snow. I told him he should’ve bought a tikka. Haha. The nicer the bolt lift, the easier it is to pop open on accident. I use either a tikka or an AR type.

It doesn’t not on the previous havak models, I believe the PH3s will also just be a two position non locking saftey
That’s might be the only thing that keeps me from buying a PH3. Everything else looks fanatic, but I only use tikka, browning, Kimber, etc because of the bolt lock option. Just had too many issues with rem 700 without the bolt lock getting pulled open while hunting.
