Seekins PH3

Can anyone with a PH3 in .300 Win mag tell me or SHOW me some groups of a 200gr ammo (namely Terminal Ascent if possible?) I can't get 175-200gr ammo(9 types all higher end, Accubonds, eld-x for example) to shoot under 3 inches which equates to a miss in 3-400 yds on white tail..... I am waiting on return label from seekins now, but are you guys getting good groups from specifically .300? I know with recoil it's harder to shooot, but I shoot a friends win mag tikka into ragged single hole groups.

thanks!

I had 1 horseshit and one mediocre 300WM ph/ph2 from seekins. Just paid to have a bartlein chambered for it rather than sending it back a 3rd time.

The second one shot federal GMM 190 SMKs good for them in test groups but never shot anything i wanted to hunt with well enough for my liking.

Very annoying that for almost 2k it doesn't shoot what I want, when I screwed together myself a 1500$ remage 6.5 PRC that will shoot any ammo into touching holes and under an inch out to 200.........

I’m taking my PH3 in 300wm out tomorrow to shoot 180EH Bergers.

I will report back with how it shoots

How stiff are the forends on these? I shoot with a shooting sling a lot and its easy to flex the forend to touch the barrel with a lot of stocks. I know the new mini chassis is supposed to be a lot stiffer but how much is a lot? Can you grab the barrel and flex the stock with just thumb pressure?

Super stiff I don't think you could flex it that far no.

My buddy picked one up in 6.5 creedmoor with the 20” barrel today. He brought it over and we got it all set up for him. SHV, Nomad TI XC, factory precision hunter. Here are rounds 12-22 on the new barrel. I included the first five because it was pretty impressive, but I know folks would cry foul if I didn’t post the full 10!

I like the sound of that. Unfortunate you can’t get a different stock for this action but I’m sure that will change
Manners offers the Pro Hunter and Pro Hunter Adjustible for it. It’s not on their website yet but I was quoted $1100 and 4 month lead time.

Glen Seekins mentioned it on their Facebook channel so I had to email Manners and see for myself!

Ok, I might be revealing that I’m old, but what app is this?

I pulled the trigger on a 22” 300 PRC yesterday. She joins the family of a .308 PH2 and 6.5 PRC Element Hunter. Haven’t had a chance to take her to the range yet.

New here, though I've been lurking for a while.
Seekins offered everything I wanted, all in one place, with the PH3. Picked one up late last year in 6.5PRC.
Finally got it to the range last month.

First round, the bolt wouldn't close. Went in and around the chamber with a brush and swab. Didn't see anything, but had no more troubles. 45 rounds fired in 2 weekends.

I was using best 3 of 4 to sight it in, and select optimal factory lead-free ammo.

Very pleased with the gun overall, though the magazine is a bit tough to insert. Takes some wiggling to get it to seat, and had a couple FTL if I didn't knock it in hard enough.

Not in love with magazine release as part of the trigger guard. But I'm getting used to it.

Otherwise, it cycles like a dream, runs like a champ, fits me well, and feels great. I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Amplus 6 scope, Spartan Precision bipod, and Hornady Match ammo made this the easiest sight-in I've performed. Dialed in with 9 rounds at 25 yards, and another 8 at 100.
I was hoping either the Outfitter CX 130's or LRX 127's would do it for me, but they were printing in the 2.5 to 3" range. Federal's Trophy Copper 120's didn't have the same POI, but grouped quite consistently with the 147 ELD-M's, and more than good enough for hunting. But 120's seem a bit light, to me, in the PRC. Shocker was the Reminton CuT 130's. About 1/2 the size of the Match or TC. Though the math may be a little optimistic, outside of the 17HMR, this is probably the best group I've ever printed. I rushed out and bought every box I could find. Plan is to sight it in at 275, to maximize the point-blank range, and get ready for next year's elk hunt.
