I received my AMR yesterday. I love this pack. It's the perfect design for me. I love the new main bag size and larger front pockets. I can't wait to load it up this weekend.

Looks like a beast of a pack Aron. I think I like the "strap management" of this pack a little better than the EMR2,...Agree?

That's exactly what I was thinking and really my only complaint on the EMR II. Obviously, everything has tradeoffs - some situations one would be better than the other.

Anyone have any more reviews on their AMR's?

I was just looking for a general review. I have an EMR II currently. No worries though, I've got an AMR that will be here tomorrow. I think the strap management will make this pack much more convenient overall. Might lose some versatility and access but I was willing to give the AMR a try.

Hi everyone

I quick review of my AMR after I used it on a Red stag hunt with my kids, here in Australia this past week.

In a word (or two), love it.

The front pockets and a belt pouch on each side of the hip belt took all the stuff I carry for day hunts, the main bag compressed down and virtually disappeared.

When I carried the hind leg of a stag out (twice in 12 hours), I undid the compression straps, dropped the leg in a did the straps up again. No problems with carrying the leg, it sat there very well.

The pack carried well, fits me very well and was a joy to have on my back.

I added a water bladder in it's own pouch by attaching it to the two clips inside the main bag.

All I have to do now is work out a system for carrying my rifle. After looking at the videos, I'm not a fan of carrying my rifle with the barrel poking out under my arm. Does anyone have any suggestions for carrying a rifle vertically on the side of an AMR.

I will load the pack up with more weight for my training sessions this winter before I go to Canada in September.

Also a big fan of the Kifaru grab bags. I used three or four of them this week and found them very useful.

Regards

You can use the gun bearer on one side of the pack. It's works great since you have even more height adjustment due to the pals webbing. (Imagine it running parallel with the bag in the center) Also, a small or medium belt pouch will also accomplish this same task. I prefer the gun bearer though.

Does anyone have a picture of the bag compressed with a large side pocket attached? Curious to see how easy it would be to get a spotting scope in and out with the main bag compressed down

No attachment points inside the bag (other than the chamber pocket tab loops).

You can order with Auto-locks, standard SR buckles or K connectors.

I will post up photos when I have more time with it compressed with spotter and tripod inside.

Aron I don't see an option for changing out the auto-locks. I'm thinking I'd rather have the k-connectors. Can I do that or do I need to also order a k-connector conversion kit?

My KU order finally got here. Below are photos of my AMR on duplex frame with guide lid. Side pocket attached is a medium with an 85mm razor HD in it. Nothing else is in the bag or pocket.

I didn't specify anything other than auto-lock buckles as I wanted to try them out and it came with regular SR buckles??

Angled. This is the first chance Ive had to play around with my gear and it is attached in the picture with both malice clips and the adjustable compression straps (k clips?) that come with it. Thinking I will probably ditch the black malice clips in the field. Now I just need one of my two new bows to show up so I can pop a bear and pack some meat in it!

Thank you sir. Been trying to decide what size side pocket (med or large) to go with to throw my angled 85 on my late season pack. Appreciate the pics/info.

Does the side pocket flop around with the main bag compressed it's is it pretty sturdy?

With just the malice clips on there and the spotter its really floppy. The open-ended compression straps secure it really well. Im not sure what KU calls them but the female buckle has an open end to attach to webbing. I really like them.
