Aron if you get a chance could you show the daypack mode like above but with a spotter and tripod on the sides? Maybe the spotter in one of the new side pockets?

Also are there attachment points inside the bag like the EMR?

Can we order it without the autolocks as well?

Shit I may just have to call you, I keep editing this post with more questions...

I will echo these questions as well. Very interested to see how it would function in "day pack" mode or even half full with items attached to the side.

No attachment points inside the bag (other than the chamber pocket tab loops).

You can order with Auto-locks, standard SR buckles or K connectors.

I will post up photos when I have more time with it compressed with spotter and tripod inside.

I like the looks of this pack, with no pockets on the sides I could mount my rifle flat and secure to the P.A.L.s webbing on one side and mount a pocket for my spotter with malice clips to the opposite side. I'm glad I didn't pounce on the EMR II, this pack deserves a little more looking into.

A-Ron,

Just wondering how you strap a bow on it. Lash kit and loin cloth?

Love the EMR2 but could see how sensitive items could get squished because you know from the ALICE pack days that a smaller pack is lighter after you strap it so tight that you break buckles.

Nice design. I forsee a male EMRII and an female AMR having a few drinks and 9 months later a baby AMRII falls out of the zipper.

First mistake would be comparing a Kifaru anything to an ALICE ;)

I'm amazed at what little attention this thread is getting, I really think this is a well designed pack. The nomad and EMR threads exploded in days last year

Its cause the Aussie pack can't externally haul to PR-49 packrafts nearly as nicely ;)

Seriously though its a great looking bag for sure!

A lot of us bought Nomads and EMR II's last year. If this bag would have come out last year, I might have got it instead, but I'm liking my Nomad quite a bit.

From the phone calls I'm getting, it's the size that's scaring people:)

I gotta do a video today on compressing it down with day gear/spotting scope and tripod. Gotta do another one on the difference between the EMRII and AMR.

I personally prefer the AMR over the EMR because of the compression straps and how they're sewn on with the AMR, but each person is different.

Aron correct me if I'm wrong but it's basically the size of a Highcamp 7 cubes wise with 2 extra sewn on pockets on the front? I almost pulled the trigger last month on the HC in the rhino den, but thought I'd wait till after Xmas to see if anything new came out, glad I did.

Pretty much; it has the P.A.L.S webbing on the side and the two large pockets on the back, as well as a 3rd horizontal compression strap.

I am a small pack kinda guy and even I ordered this pack. Why, well because I truly feel that this is a small pack. I looked long and hard at the EMRII when it came out, for me what drove me away from it was the main compartment, and wings being sewn together. Plus, when the EMR II is really filled up I personally feel that it gets a little wide. I understand that for someone wanting to be able to open the zipper and get a griz hide, moose quarter…etc. in it that it’s probably the cat’s ass having the center zipper, but I personally hate zippers, nothing worse than a zipper that gets one of the teeth messed up. The next time I load anything like this up in my pack will be the first time, this is not my type of hunting, nor do I need a pack for this type. I get it for the guys up in Alaska and the outfitters; I am not this guy, even though at times I might think I am…..LOL. I love seeing the pictures of the guys with moose heads, packrafts, bear hides…etc in their pack, don’t get me wrong I wish I was one of these guys, but I am not. I very rarely do trips longer than a couple of nights. For my type of outings this was way too much size and weight for me to justify. I stuck with my 4500 cu. in. pack and left it at that.

When this pack (AMR) came out I again reevaluated my system. What really sold me on this pack is the pals field on both sides of the pack and the three sewn in compression straps. The pals field allows me to customize the sides for my liking, if I want to run it mean and lean I can, if I want to add side pockets, long pockets, belt pouches, water bottle pockets…etc I can, I have that freedom. I occasionally run a tripod on one of the sides of my pack, for me I dislike have to put a tripod in a pocket, I like to be able to just unbuckle and take it off, rather than trying to stuff it in something. As long as I have at least two compression straps on the side of a pack I am able to do this and not have to worry about it falling off. With this pack I am able to do just that. Same thing would go for a rifle strapped to the side.

If I only want to run it with a day load I can take all that crap off and strip it down. For me this is just about perfect. So, what I am really gaining with the AMR then, well a security blanket. For the first time for me anyway I will have the ability to really throw the kitchen sink at a pack that I plan on using for the majority of my trips, this means day trips, overnighters, shed hunting, training, etc. without adding a bunch of extra weight to the pack. The zippers and wings on the EMR II just really don’t fit with how I run a pack, but I feel that this one will. Anyway, that's my rant….I’m looking forward to getting it.

I swore that the T1 would be all I needed but I am liking the ability of the AMR to attach a side pocket for my spotter with the top and bottom horizontal compression straps then the middle strap over the pocket. That way I can compress my pack and still access my spotter without having to loosen the whole load.

Pretty much exactly my thinking. This thing is going to be sweet for our kind of hunting.

I don't get guys concern over having a large pack - especially one that compresses down really nicely in day pack mode. I still think the EMR II would be better for me to be able to easily strap a bow to it, but this bag is a great option.

I would much rather have a large pack that compresses down than a small pack that I have to try to expand.

These are me. But I still may give the AMR a shot and see how it does. As far as getting a bow on it, I get my bow on my EMRII and my Barney's via the lid and Grab-it and it carries like a champ without having to employ the straps.
