I am from Michigan and my parents live in GR too. I miss our property in the UP. Haven’t been up there in a few years but I was just in GR in February

Let me know if you need any help hunting it :)

Lots of michigan boys here.

Can’t wait till Wednesday

Since the draw isn't out I thought I would pose a question. Does anyone know if you can return a tag for NM? I know most couldn't think of doing it but I've drawn in MT and giving them 20% plus points is a hard pill to swallow.

not unless you have a qualifying event is my understanding, but I’ve been wrong before.

I found the same thing finally. Basically I would have to be injured so I couldn't go on the hunt, deployed, or a tornado hit my house. So unlike the rest of you guys I'm hoping to not draw.

depends what units you put info, couple I’d just flat find a way to make it.

Yeah if I would draw then I'm probably going to be making that 20% donation to MT getting 80% back is better than 0. This is one of those I just don't quite understand the process though. I know it takes someones time to reallocate a tag to the next hunter but they could find that cost and take it out of the amount that has been paid. It's not like NM is in danger of not selling all the non res tags

thats the reasoning they just don’t have too. Draw odds are going down not up. If draw odds where going up and people were not applying then they might change but at a 6% or less NR allocation, you can tell they don’t care

I hope the other rumors I'm hearing are just rumors too.
Cause they dont sound good.

I don’t doubt the governor would love to...

but I have a hard time seeing it actually happen. That’s my theory. I’m still counting on 4/22!! But am not worrying until 4/29...

It takes all of 15 seconds to go to a given national forest web site and see exactly what is closed or not.

So far, every forest I have looked at (OR WA) has the same closures, improved campgrounds, boat ramps, trailhead parking, and day use areas.
Hunting, fishing, hiking, dispersed camping, all open.

My fingers are crossed for results this week! Slim odds but a guy can hope.

I don’t think the odds are that low that we’ll see em this week. Long as the governor doesn’t try anything crazy. but I think there a long shot and well all know that we didn’t draw anything come Wednesday

I meant my odds of drawing a tag are slim :)
I agree with you that we will probably see results this week.
