Bear hunting is tough here, at least in my part of the state. Not sure how far you’re traveling, but I think there are better places to hunt bears if you don’t live here. Most people get a bear tag “just in case” if they have a deer or elk tag already.Anyone know much about “otc” bear tags? Do you have to have a valid tag for other big game to buy one or can you just go hunt bear? Also, how is the bear hunting in the fall in nm?
That’s what I was thinking. I’m in sw OK so it’s just 6-8 hours to where I was wanting to hunt. May just try and get some PL permission on antelope in the panhandle with my bowBear hunting is tough here, at least in my part of the state. Applying as a group absolutely hurts your odds in NM.Applied for pretty high percentage units for deer. All red. Applied as a 2 man party. Don’t know if that makes a difference in your odds or not but apparently didn’t help
