Anyone put a Cargo Panel under a Spike Camp?

All of this on a duplex frame? The spike camp isn't designed to carry much more then 50lbs so I see no reason you would try to run that on a spike camp minus duplex. To add a spike camp and cargo panel to a duplex sounds like a tone of unneeded weight. Why not just get a camp bag and have someone modify it to what you want and use that with a cargo panel? Or why not just add pockets to a cargo panel?

Here's my ultimate goal, the HUNTING PLATFORM FRAME AND SUSPENSION is being presented as being completely modular, letting you choose between pack or freighter. So if you wanna small and light day pack but end up shooting a large hog or bear, the frame can handle the weight, the trick is also have a light day pack so the rig can do both at the same time. See my quandry? I figure with the Cargo Panel the bag's 50lb limit is moot.

Are you planning on cutting the omni harness off the spike camp?

NEW Kifaru Frame & Suspension Review

It's an option, haven't decided on the best way to go yet.

I think your really over thinking it. Rambler is perfect for what you want. Is the cheapest, it's gonna be the lightest, unless you go cargo panel and a couple pockets, and it will probably be the most functional.

Also you should start looking at the weight of the stuff your putting together. New frame, spike camp and cargo panel will run you about 800 bucks and be heavier then your DT1 setup, with 1/3 the capacity

I agree, way over thinking and spending. If your willing to cut off the suspension of a perfectly good pack why not jus cut out the rifle scabbard?

Think Kifaru would build one without the scabbard?

Doubt it.
What's the hang-up with the rambler? The rifle sleeve portion that hangs below the bag can't weigh more than a couple oz's. The rambler is no wider than the frame if you don't load up the side pockets. Stuff your fly rod and trekking pole down in the rifle scabbard and rock on.

Just cut it out, or so don't use it, from what I've seen its not like an eberlestock, it doesn't affect the pack and is not there when your not using it.
The bottom of it was kept inside by horizontal Velcro straps. I can't imagine it weighing much though.

Hey Aron? I know I can drop in a camp bag between the frame and cargo panel but what I'm really looking for is a way to have a designated freighter that can carry a few basics for day hunts (hydration bladder, kill kit, snacks, GPS, some extra clothes and maybe a spotting scope. But my goal is to make this light and by adding a big bag or putting pouches on the cargo panel I am basically defeating the purpose. What's the best UL way to add waterproof storage compartments to the new frame/cargo panel? I only need a like 900-1200ci. Is the camp bag my lightest option?

Get a dry sack, grab it, and guide lid. Attach the guide led to the top of the frame and the grabbed it to the bottom, after that the dry sack will compress between the two.

Just ordered. I ordered the medium belt. I am concerned because the medium Bikini belt was too big for me. I went with the medium on the new frame because it says 34-38 and I am 36" at my hips. Hope it fits and I can get it good and tight without running out of room.

I neglected to mention that my November hunt will have me hauling a large hunting blind around (this is another reason I ordered the frame with the Cargo Panel. I do like the idea of the Longhunter lid though and it worked out great on my DT1. But do I really need the Grab-It with the panel? I already have a this 55L bag so maybe this is all I need? Thanks Aron!!
