New developments coming this summer

Cannot wait to try the active insulator. I've been able to use the majority of active insulations out there, and 75-g PrimaLoft Evolve (paired with light, air-perm face fabric + grid fleece) is the most impressive I've found in terms of balancing breathability and warmth for the majority of cool and cold-weather activities.

But I would never have pulled the trigger on the Sitka Ambient 75 if I hadn't stumbled upon a great deal; psyched to see a comparable design whose price won't be ballooned by proprietary camo patterns.
Dude for sure. The 75 definitely caught my attention for a long while; with a UL60 being a little not warm enough (good midlayer over a mesh merino base in cold weather maybe with another layer over it) and the Ambient 100 jacket being too warm it caught my attention but getting hands on I was iffy.

I’m hoping this piece is the perfect balance we’re all looking for in a true midlayer.

Good questions here. Regarding torso lengths. The hybrid fleece and puffy will be made in standard and tall torso sizes. The pants are made in 30, 32, and 34 inch inseams. Waist sizes will be in 1 inch increments from 29 to 36. 2 inch increments above 36.
Are y'all gna release any women's versions? Thin hunting pants and well-designed puffy jackets are missing from the market for women.

A couple of photos from a bear hunt last week, showing the mid-layer and the pants. Both are prototypes, so the colors are not final. These specific proto pieces have had some changes compared to the protos I wore for all of last fall, and both pieces are even better now than they were then.

I hope the pants do not have zippers on the rear pockets.

Also, what is going on with your boot/pant leg?

Glad to see you tagged out. Congrats! Can't wait to hear all about ti.

Looks good! I don’t look forward to many pieces of kit anymore but I’m looking forward to these

interesting I had both the ambient 100 full zip and ambient ul 60 and kept the ul60 bc I didn't think there was much of a difference. almost felt like the grid fleece added made it warmer. the 75 I would think would be about perfect.

“Colors aren’t final” well the pants look great, midlayer isn’t bad.

Oh man not me. The Ambient 100 is cooking hot for me while moving unless it’s pretty cold. I think this mid layer piece should hit a good spot based on @Mark at EXO pics where the color change is, I’m guessing is all fleece black vs the grey being the Alpha.

The UL 60 is much more body mapped and okay for me, better in milder temps. But it just doesn’t provide the right degree of warmth (IMO at least) for its use case in real cold weather, I like it with the Ambient 100 vest over it for some added versatility, that seems to be my ideal setup.

Like I said I’m hoping this midlayer will be that happy medium. I can get away with just the Vest over my merino mesh and Core LW in early-mid September then toss this in as the temps drop until they warrant adding the vest or other another layer over it.

So far the mid layer sounds like everything I could want, nothing I don’t. Jacket has my interest. Hard pass on any pants from any manufacturer with an internal belt. My only hard rule for pants. (Although no zippers on back pockets is gaining ground…)

Cool collab overall!

Why don’t you like the internal belt? I’m starting to like it.

Makes the pant single use; an internal belt inevitably twists somewhere inside of the pant which defeats its sole benefit (flush under a pack); and when hunting it means my Argali belt gets left at camp which is a big no-no for me. First Lite makes a pant with an internal belt. It’s awful.

I’ve never once noticed my belt under my pack hip belt, at least since Argali released theirs. I just don’t see a use for an internal one. But, hey - that’s why we all get to buy our own pants 😀

Well crap. I just got some wrangler pants with a built in belt. Didn’t buy them for that but it became a nice feature, makes the pants stay in place evenly like joggers with an elastic waist.
