New Binos from Leica

10x32 is probably the worst selling configuration made is why they'll never have a bino/rf unit like that.
10x32 has been my favorite for over 20 years (EL’s) and I’m not alone in liking that configuration. I’d be all over 10x32 Geovid’s. If they released an 8x32 I might consider it but for what I do I’m more accustomed to 10.

I guarantee you, no matter how much you and your buds like them, as compared to 10x42, 8x42, or 8x32, a 10x32 is by far the poorest seller of them all, no matter the brand.

Whenever I see a hunting show filmed in Africa it seems like everyone is using 32mm or smaller. And no spotting scopes. What do they know that we don’t?

Looks like Leica is releasing something new in the first week of January…. More rangefinding binos? Another competitor for the NL Pures? It’s a good time to be an optics snob!
I don’t know what the new binos will be, but this thread has caused me to reconsider a plan I’ve been mulling over. I have the Zeiss Victory SF 10x42. I don’t think I need 10x and was thinking of switching to 8x in the same bino. I know it’s not directly on topic, but anyone have thoughts about going to Leica Ultra or Noctovids. (Thanks a lot guys.)

I have owned Ultravid +’s and sf’s both in 10x42. I like the Leica more but that’s not to say the SF aren’t amazing! I personally like the color and ergonomics of the Leica more but the SF has an amazing fov and a better focus knob imo

32's suit Africa style hunting perfectly. More close quarters hunting than long range glassing, lots of stalking game where lighter binos shine, etc.

I can vouch for the ultras. I have no experience with the noctos not have I seen anyone in the field with them. I’m curious about them but I’m afraid to look through them. I don’t need another pair lol. Unless they come out with a 7x-10x duovid range finder the size and weight of 32 mm class. 🤤

I love 8x32's. Took a Meopta Meostar of this config to Africa several times. I personally find the 10x32 useless but to each his own.

Getting close to Jan 6....someone hit us with some info @SpanielDog ?

Mostly curious about:

1) The Size. What will the x32 Geovid Pro compare to in size/weight? Hoping the Swaro SLC

2) The Tech. This feels like a place Leica has been lacking with the Geovid line. Will there be quality integration with an app, ease of use, etc. Did I mention ease of use/adjustment with the menu?

3) The Laser. Will it be upgraded as well?

4) The Glass. This is nearly last on my list because I believe in Leica and what they do on the optics side. But I still want to know I'm getting great binoculars too.

5) Configurations. 8x32 photo leaked...will there be a 10x32 as well?

Nothing. They drive up to walking distance of the game very often in Africa. They are not looking across 6 miles of mountains and decide it is worth the climb to get to that animal over said 6 miles of mountain…

Huge market for 32 sized objectives in the bird watching market. I read a lot of reviews on bird watching forums and many are moving from 42 to 32 sized objectives.

The Geovid 3200 is a great unit

I specifically said 10x32, NOT 32's in general. The 8x32's are much, much better sellers than the 10's, which was the point.

8x and for some of you haters 10x 👊

GPO also has some new range binos Doug posted, lighter similar size, less money but less features as well.

GPO has some good stuff for sure, but the biggest problem with the new bino/rf's, at least the way I see it, is they are Chinese and you never know nowadays how long you'll wait. Sig is having that problem with their new unit. It doesn't have any ballistic features either, as you say. GPO announced their first unit , the 10x50, and it took many months for it to hit the market.

Available in 8x32 and 10x32 versions, both priced at $2899.

Available for delivery in April 2022.

6" x 5.1" x 2.75" @ 30.7oz so a bit more compact and lighter than Swaro EL Range TA.

New app coming with Applied Ballistics connectivity. Looks like they've addressed some of the bow hunter issues with these and so on...

I carry a maven b3 8x30 and a Leica 2800 now. I feel like this may be a cool option to try.
