We need some more videos such as these. 5 days of shooting, even being advertised on Facebook, YouTube etc with a $1k bounty.
The results may humble some of y’all (or not)
Not sure why we'd be humbled based on how badly other people shoot. My favorite is the guy with the 15" bipod, no rear rest, and no idea what to do with his support hand. The results may humble some of y’all (or not)
As much as he can be annoying he doesn’t claim to be anyone special. He says it himself that he wasn’t that knowledgeable when he started the channel and is not an expert but tries to give his honest perspective as a regular dude. I’d rather see people be like that than pretend they are an expert when they are not.Can the guy hat runs this youtube channel even shoot 1 MOA? Isn't his claim to fame just being able to make clickbait videos and shooting cow elk on private land?
Didn't he gut shot the shit out of one with a 6.5prc a while back and then post it online. 600yds or so I believe. Can the guy hat runs this youtube channel even shoot 1 MOA? Isn't his claim to fame just being able to make clickbait videos and shooting cow elk on private land?

Guy looked like he was trying to mimic the posture of a sea lion.Doing ab work and neck strains while shooting prone
100% he's just good at marketing and producing clickbait videos that the general audience thinks are entertaining. The "influencer" BS is far and wide in the hunting industry and most of the time they aren't capable themselves. No idea why people watch that channel and think it's anything more than that.I quit watching his videos a while back, felt like I was being sold something and the bs meter started pegging. Guy could be legit, but it was like vanilla extract, a little goes along way. Just my opinion of course and it is worth nothing lol
Jim seems like a man I would like to know. He certainly doesn't come across as having a big ego. Not a fair comment as I believe 95% of internet content providers would never have shown it. The original shot was not at 600 yards. He explained that he took the slow trigger squeeze a little too seriously and while he was pulling the trigger, the animal took a step. He felt terrible but stayed on the animal. When it stopped running it was 600 yards plus and he took the shot and was thankfully able to finish the animal.Didn't he gut shot the shit out of one with a 6.5prc a while back and then post it online. 600yds or so I believe.
That endorsement might not carry as much weight around here as you think it does. Though I don't feel that strongly about the situation itself.FYI. If Ron Spomer likes him, as I assume based on their collaborations, that is a worthwhile endorsement.
I agree, and I think I'll go a little further and say, not only does he read this forum, but I think he gets a lot of it. He's going smaller and smaller on hunting cartridges, he talks about recoil affecting shooting, and he's trying to get people to be more realistic about their max range in hunting scenarios. He even discussed the rokstok on a shot show video and didn't call it goofy looking.I was a big Backfire detractor for a while because he posted some really terrible takes about game laws and put a political spin on them and also some pretty dumb stuff about ELDm vs ELDx with some bad hunting content. He seems to be the type of guy that got into hunting because he likes shooting rather than vice versa and clearly isn't much of a "DIY public land/backcountry" type.
As of late i've appreciated some of his efforts to call out the dishonesty in "MOA guarantees" and point out how overconfident most hunters are in their actually abilities. With the surge of LR hunting we need all the help we can get showing people reality vs the braggards only showing the good outcomes and companies selling BS LR shooting competency in their gadgets.
