My dad bought a power stroke a few years ago that was a Canadian import. Put 120k additional trouble free miles on it. Only reason we knew it was Canadian was because of the sticker on the A pillar. Truck was sold a few years ago and is still kicking as far as I know. What's the deal with all these low mileage 2 year old canadian import trucks? Mostly f150s but I've seen a few others as well.
They are aggressively priced. Usually 2k less than non imports.
Google tells me during covid people were buying from Canada, keeping a year and trading in for more than they paid. Then dealers in lower 48 were getting them cheaper up there than they could down here due to exchange rates.
It probably doesn't matter, but seeing a 2 year old truck with 3 or 4 owners just raises red flags to me.
Anybody have real world context for this? It seems like certain dealers have import trucks nearly exclusively.
I don't know why they are here, but from what I understand there are some differences in menu options/features for some brands/models. I would make sure there isn't a significant difference. What's the deal with all these low mileage 2 year old canadian import trucks?
