My SilencerCo Harvester Evo 300 exploded today

With silencer co manufacturing a product that can potentially have a deadly effect upon failure, even a 99.97% good product is a liability. That’s still 3 failures per 1000. At over 20k produced, that’s still 60 failures. There have been than many reported here on Rokslide.
99.97% good is 3 failures per 10,000. 99.7% good is 3 per 1,000.

SiCo is well past a 0.03 failure rate on the Scythe. If we assume 30K Scythes have been manufactured and before being lost the original scythe pole captured every failure, https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/silencerco-scythe-ti-failures.386687/post-4329747

That is 32 failures. Which means a touch over a 0.1% failure rate.

Just received my suppressor back from SilencerCo via Fedex exactly one week after I shipped it back for repair. They sent it signature required and Fedex estimated delivery between 8am and 8pm. You can see where it was welded. Will be wearing safety glasses and hearing protection next trip to shoot.Jh9UWLQA.jpg

I'm pretty sure there was over 40 total when the thread was moved. There have been more since.

Regardless, it is too many. You can under estimate failures, being as favorable as possible to SiCo and still get that result. There line of less than 1% is really a BS attitude as it says they find a near 1% failure rate acceptable.

It is not hard to design pressure vessels that are much cheaper with more complexity that fail far less. Just look at propane containers (or firearms themselves). But, the firearm accessory industry has no standards for itself and most customers will make excuses for those who sell them sub par products.
