Tikka T3x lite and suppressor issues

It does sound like light baffle strikes.

I'm curious....you know how the Tikka lite barrels taper down and then just past mid-barrel, taper back OUT? Would that make it more likely that a gunsmith cutting the barrel down has more trouble keeping concentricity/alignment? I would imagine most all the other barrels they work on are straight profile or narrowing.

A reason this seems like a possibility (in my mind) is the OP and The Harbor Master both had similar issues and both had their barrels cut down. Just a thought.

Another thought I had would be stabilization. (Much less likely, but possible) Likely, your bullet it still stabilizing. But depending on your twist rate, cutting the barrel down could cause the bullet to not fully stabilize before leaving the barrel. Especially if you're using heavy-for-caliber projectiles. Now, it'd have to be pretty unstable to wobble enough to strike a baffle before leaving the suppressor, but it is possible.

This second option is probably not the case, because you'd probably see some keyholes on target (with or without the suppressor on the end) if this were the case with your rifle
