I literally posted the hunters orange requirements as a comment in that video. Oddly enough, that comment no longer exists 🤨🤨🤨

Such bullshit.....I guess the lying crybaby poacher doesn’t want his little feelings hurt.

I work in real estate and you are correct about one aspect, land ownership is changing all the time and OnX and other similar services can't update that frequently so they are frequently outdated. I bought a parcel over 2 years ago and OnX still shows it under the previous landowners name.

All that said, land doesn't change from public to private nearly as often, though it does happen in occasion. It doesn't really matter if I own it or Joe Blow owns it, if you don't have written permission to hunt private land you can't legally hunt it. OnX is going to let you know it's not public so even if the ownership is outdated you'll still know it's private land.

I'm actually correct about everything assuming you weren't there and have zero idea if how this happened.
While it sounds like it happened straight up, we have no idea if he was misled, lied too, or just acted like a retard and did it again because he wanted to.

I can also show you a bunch of ground here that is claimed as National Forest but, is as private an my living room. This shows up on Gaia and USFS maps. I've never seen a On X in these areas so I can't say for sure. But, I am pretty certain they don't have on the ground people in WV and VA verifying county tax maps as correct.

These mapping programs you guys are pitching as the berries are only going to be as accurate as the local assessor's accuracy was when he produced the tax maps. They can be precise or way off. Depends

I spent 21 year working as a forester. Finding property boundaries was as essential to that as bread is to butter. Not being a wise guy but, real estate agents around here know about as much as doughnut makers concerning property boundaries. How they are established, what a survey is versus a tax map, and how to locate them and validate their accuracy. Not saying that is you. Just saying that has been my experience

He got caught on the same property , he knew full well where he was. Cross reference landownership records before you attempt to hunt a grey area. Lots of folks take the time to get to know for sure where they are hunting.
We compare many maps and tax office records if we're wondering at all about private and public land boundaries.
If he had a legitimate excuse to be on the wrong ground he would have been given some latitude.
May be you should read the court docs, looks like lots of posters here have.
Refer to my previous post for why I almost 100% agree with you. But, have zero intentions of selling out on it without his side of the story

I replied to all those quotes as separate because I don't know how to add them in the same post. So, please don't take it as being argumentative. I'm simply pointing out and acknowledging reality. My only hold up on this whole deal is it would take a special kind of stupid to do it again on the same ground. But, that could be a compliment if he published a video of it the second time with knowledge that things hadn't changed. I have a hard time believing anyone is that dumb, greedy, or driven by the dollar.

He knew where he was. He knew there wasn’t any public ground where he was looking for bulls. These things I know for a fact. In his side of the story (summarized in the hearing documents) he played dumb. He’s tried to navigate the same property boundaries before and got slapped on the wrist in 2015. He’s studied maps of that area using onX maps. Like you, I would want to hear his side of the story as well (there’s always two sides). In this instance, the difference is I already know the back story of 2015 (told to me by him) and the hearing doc summarizes his story for 2017 (which I don’t believe at all given his history with the area and his former affiliation and constant use of onX maps). From personal experience, he’s not an honest person. Think of me as a character witness. His side of the story is a lie. Plain and simple.

I said I work in real estate, not that I'm a real estate agent. I'm actually a developer who deals with property boundaries and surveys all the time. I do not, however, deal with much public ground as we are dealing with private sellers and buyers. Regardless, I understand your point and agree with you for the most part. I've seen more than one boundary dispute over the years and it is ultimately our own responsibility to know where we are hunting. OnX, etc. aren't the only tools out there you should be using but they are a good tool to have in your toolbox.

This is true. I have a piece of private property in a Wilderness area and it cracks me up how badly the private/public boundaries are off. On one side the line is probably 1 or 1.5 miles off. Using OnX....not their fault, but I probably should notify them.

Still think muley freak sounds like a dishonest repeat offender, and a douche blanket.

In TX that would be jail time for second offense of criminal trespass with a weapon which makes it a felony. Restitution would be 16-20k, assuring they didnt take everything thing used in the crime like his truck and rifle and camera gear... not to mention loss of hunting privileges for min 7 years.

Im holding judgement until trial. Innocent until found guilty in my mind. The Internet convicting is getting old. Due process

Read back several pages....the COURT document has been posted a couple times. He was CONVICTED. The due process has been completed. In UT he got 22 months suspended license and a class B. Court document attached again. You should read it as it is a good read and outlines his repeat offenses on the same private property.

Internet conviction? He's already been found guilty by the state and given 22 months license suspension. Not sure what else you're waiting on on this one. It's public record and the information has been posted in the thread already. That's what has everyone ticked off, that that's all he got for being a repeat offender. He had his hunting rights suspended in 2007, was caught on this property in 2015, and then again in 2017 and posted a video to YouTube of the hunt which has been removed but a copy retained as state's evidence. It's not an internet conviction at all.

They already convicted him, twice. . .Once for trespassing on this same ranch years ago, and once again for the incident that this thread is about.

On a side note, I wish all states would take private land rights as serious as Texas.

Then he is damn lucky he is in Utah.

Such a shame

Rustneversleeps.... I don't think he is nearly as popular as he believes. Just go look at his engagement on there pictures they post on Instagram. Something doesn't add up.

There are separate instagram accounts for the individuals involved with Muley Freak and a main account. The main account is pretty popular, 2-3000 likes on some pictures. The individual ones, not so much.

Edit. Added extra zeros for some reason.
