Sad!!! I don’t get who it is that follows these guys and makes them so popular? And when I say guys I’m talking about all the instafacebook celebrities. There are 100’s if not 1,000’s of better more down to earth hunters on this forum that don’t go down this road just to get free crap and a little short term cash. This is what happens when antler, horn and picture size/quality takes over.

What’s sad is new hunters may think these guy’s know something and follow their example.

What comes first, the chicken or the egg? Do you become this type of person who behaves this way because you have Instagram and YouTube channels and a website and all these followers, or were you always like that but now you just have an audience? Out of an abundance of caution, I don’t have an internet presence outside of Rokslide and email, just to be on the safe side... don’t want to become a tool, and if I already am one, I’d rather not share that with the internet.

I think the attitude is there before the IG following. Seems there are a lot of wannabes that dont have the following but act that way. They often pop up on here trying to push their YouTube channel. I know I already had an attitude before I built http://skaanland.net/

I don't like kicking people when they are down but I hope this puts an end to the worst long range hunting videos on the internet. States should use them in their Hunters Ed classes to show students what not to do.
I laughed out loud when I read this, while simultaneously all the flashbacks of exactly what you are talking about started replaying in my head!

They just took all the negative comments down off their IG page. They're just going to silence everyone and go on with business as usual.

Guys, its Utah. They will sentence him, wait 4 month until everyone forgets, reinstate his license and he will be back at it this fall, if he has enough money to and the right connections.

If you want to see the video that really shows his true light watch the one where he shoots the wrong antelope and blames it on everyone else.
Yep, totally agree with you. I couldn't believe they actually posted that video too, like people wouldn't notice how he acted.

Well then we can't let it die. That's some BS. Can't run away from your stupid decisions.

Sounds like the standard protocol for these instafamous types. Someone mentioned the guy on Instagram (Heavenat10K) earlier in this thread, after the stuff he pulled he’s managed to rebound pretty well. People forget, or stop caring, and then move on. That’s what allows this culture to continue. There’s a long list of this stuff.

Not only that but he when he gets up to the Antelope he lifts up the head like a child who just recieved a gift that he didnt want. Ungrateful and no respect for the animal that was just killed.

Blowing the spine out of a mule deer at 600 yards then having the damn nerve to not edit out the "told you I can shoot" bull$hit.....what a f'n load of crap.

Ego check time?

This guy and his kind are just as damaging as an unmanaged mountain lion population.
These social media horn whores will be our great undoing. They are taking something that is about as natural and unspoiled an activity as you can get in its pure form and turning it into a contest. This all leads to tempers flaring, wounded pride and laws getting broken trying to one up the other guy, and nothing positive coming from any of this and making us all look sloppy.
Steven Rinella can only wrap so much caul fat around or image before our goose is cooked with the general public.
