How warm does adding a stove keep the shelters?

How does that affect your sleeping bag choice? Can you get by with a 15* bag vs having to use a 0* or warmer?

Stove won't run all night so you need to use a bag appropriate to the outside temperature.People use stoves for drying out clothing evening and morning comfort and for tent bound weather.

You can get it super warm in a hurry but like ramcam said it wont last all night so you still need a warm bag unless you feed the stove every few hours. I like to be able to dry stuff out and its great to eat dinner and get into your sleeping bag while its nice and warm. Just a great morale booster for me.

I used it all last season on sheep, elk and moose hunts. All I can say is I plan on using it again this season. Can't beat it for the price IMHO. Durability has not been an issue for me, no rips or holes. My wife is making me a ultralight silnylon tipi this spring and that is the only reason I probably won't use it for every hunt this year.

I really like mine as well, used it for 6 nights in CO Sept Elk hunt with my buddy, I am 6'4" and I am guessing he is a bit over 6'. We didn't have a ton of extra room but it is totally doable in my opinion, and the trekking poles keep your space separated which I liked. We got a lot more rain than I expected and it did great in that, floor less works great in my opinion for crappy weather as others have said. I also like the interior height as I am so sick of being curled up like a pretzel taking my boots off in a cramped vestibule in the rain!

And on top of all that the darn thing is 120$, 2# and is the size of a Nalgene bottle! How do you beat that?

I just looked at these on their site and they say it's a 3 season shelter. Looks to pitch just like a mega tarp. What makes a mega tarp 4 season and this a 3 season? Either way I'm buying one to see how I like the floorless idea. I wish it pitched tighter to the ground. I wonder if a guy could sew each loop in half to make them shorter to get it tighter to the ground. It's listed for $125 on their site. Pretty good price point!

Their sight doesn't have a measured footprint picture. Can anyone tell me what the actual width of the tent is at the ground? Same at both ends? Without a pic their "142" x 54" x 84"" measurements have me a little lost.

I don't have the specs off the top of my head and I haven't measured mine, but it narrows toward the back end width-wise. The height of the ridgeline drops from 53" at the front pole to ~40" at the back, if you have it pitched tight to the ground. I would take the extra weight if it was symmetrical design, would be nicer for two people + stove if it was equal height across the entire shelter and had two entries.

I just ordered one from campsaver.com. It was on sale for 20% off and I used their president's day code PRES20 to take another 20% off. My total was $83.17!

This is a cheap way to dip my toe into the floorless shelter pool. If I really like it someday I will upgrade to a higher end model.

This is a cheap way to dip my toe into the floorless shelter pool. If I really like it someday I will upgrade to a higher end model.

Good lookin' on that deal, looks like you may have gotten the last one though. Page still says they are "in stock" but it won't let me add one to my shopping cart. I'll try it again later tonight. I read this entire thread and it looks like this shelter will work very well for my application. If I can get my hands on one before May I'll be testing it out on an early spring turkey hunt... as long as the mosquitos don't seem too bad.

I read this entire thread and it looks like this shelter will work very well for my application. If I can get my hands on one before May I'll be testing it out on an early spring turkey hunt... as long as the mosquitos don't seem too bad.

That sucks! There is supposed to be a "Choose an Option" drop down box but it's not there now. If you click on "Don't see your option?" it tells you to enter your e-mail address and they'll notify you when it is back in stock. What a screw job. Sorry man. I wonder if you called them maybe they'd let you pay today's price and wait for the back order. This is my first purchase with campsaver so I don't know what their customer service is like.
