I get the poop in the morning. 20 minute drive to private piece, 2 hour drive to 'big woods'. Step out of the truck and that cool wind hits the back of the neck. A quick shiver, then the countdown is on.

I now get made fun of for how much consistent I am.

The pre hunt poop is a real thing for me. I've tried to prep for it or avoid it but it always seems to creep up on me. Super annoying if it hits you once you have all your gear on.

I’ve had anxiety issues for years. And while you may joke about it this is something I suffer with as well.

Early mornings and anxiety for me do not go hand and hand. I can’t eat and I sip on coke or ginger ale to call my stomach down.

But if I get up at say 6 or 7 I don’t have the same issue. I’m still anxious but not as bad

I take a pre-hunt shit. Almost every time I pull up somewhere and get outta the truck. Even if I took one before I left.
Me too!!! Like a lab before a hunt! Big dump followed by a lot of scratching off in the gravel and by God! Ready to hunt!!!

I had a hunt where i was getting sick in the morning. Took a couple days before I attributed it to being a passenger in the truck as we went the switchbaked highway. Also sleeping at 6000 feet and hunting at 10k with only an hour drive probably didn't help much either.

OP: Any chance you're getting carbon monoxide poisoning from a propane heater of some kind, or even the rig you are driving to get to your hunting spot?

I used to have a hunting buddy who swore he would throw up every morning of a hunt. And therefore he refused to eat breakfast because he was going to lose it all anyways. He was older than me and had a lot more hunting experience than I did. I thought he was just crazy lol.

Well it seems this year during waterfowl season I have developed a similar habit. In the wee hours of the morning it will sneak up on me like a mac truck. There I am hands on the knees, in front of the truck, hacking and gagging so ferociously that tears will start welling up in my eyes. After all the demons are released from my body, my buddies will usually say "what the **** is wrong with you" or "what did you drink last night". I will feel completely relieved and ready to hunt!

I have tried eating better the night before a hunt or changing my morning meal to something easier on my stomach but nothing has helped. It almost feels like I want to know the outcome of the hunt so bad that I will work myself into a tizzy. Maybe some relaxing breathing techniques would help. hahaha

This is most likely a symptom of my own mind. But has anyone had a similar experience or know anyone who deals with this?
Glad I'm not the only one

Maybe lack of sleep/fatigue? I know if I have a rough night's sleep or little to no sleep at all, I'll be nauseated as hell for several hours once getting up
