Meopta functionally no longer exists. At least not at what they were. They have no USA presence and most importantly, all of their lines are now going to Chinese manufacture.

Meopta put out the information earlier this year.... As did Zeiss. Almost all Zeiss is going to be Asia produced now. They didn't specify the country, but a safe bet is some Japan and probably the Philippines, at least. Wouldn't surprise me to see it in China though.Where did you hear that all of their lines are going to be Chinese?

Sad. I've been all in on Meopta for something like ten years now. Easily the most excellent scopes I have in inventory. If they start making glass in frickin China that's the end of that.I recently read where Meopta is doing a German Precision Optics (GPO) move. Asian assembly with QC in Czech. I love my Meopros and am disappointed with this move.
Hmm ... have you chosen anything you'd use in place of the B1s?Meopta functionally no longer exists. At least not at what they were. They have no USA presence and most importantly, all of their lines are now going to Chinese manufacture.

No wonder my optica 6 fell apart on meThere's been rumors that a lot of the Meopta stuff was already being made in China... But the rubber outer parts was made in the Czech Republic so that's why they were printed with such. On a another forum Doug at Camera Land said the Optika 5 and 6, among others were made in China. Or maybe it's in a thread on here... I can't keep track sometimes.
