Meopta still in business?

Update on my issue. I was able to contact a representative from meopta. However the part i am missing which has fallen off many times will cost me $20 but the shipping and bank transfer fee is $120. Which I am not going to do. I hope they figure out their usa branch issues, but until then I will not be continuing working or would i buy from them again. It was a good scope just poor company support.

Meopta functionally no longer exists. At least not at what they were. They have no USA presence and most importantly, all of their lines are now going to Chinese manufacture.

Man that's a bummer. They had a good thing going with the quality for $ with Czech manufacture. Probably not a good sign for the used market value of their higher end options either.

Where did you hear that all of their lines are going to be Chinese?
Meopta put out the information earlier this year.... As did Zeiss. Almost all Zeiss is going to be Asia produced now. They didn't specify the country, but a safe bet is some Japan and probably the Philippines, at least. Wouldn't surprise me to see it in China though.

That sucks :-(

I recently read where Meopta is doing a German Precision Optics (GPO) move. Asian assembly with QC in Czech. I love my Meopros and am disappointed with this move.
Sad. I've been all in on Meopta for something like ten years now. Easily the most excellent scopes I have in inventory. If they start making glass in frickin China that's the end of that.
