Meeker Colorado Wolf Attack

Once they start losing hundreds of head to the thrill killers, I suspect they will take corrective action. This pack now is just killing stock for fun.

The CPW is not the same as when it was the CDOW. Way more political and not willing to fight the system. Many of the most talented have left or are leaving, just way to much of the politicians leading the system. Yes , unfortunately it is the CPW leading the wolf recovery efforts. Majority rules. Many in the CPW do not hunt and are border line anti hunting today.

Couple questions regarding “shoot, shovel, shut-up:

1. Do you pack a shovel around while you’re hunting or return later with the shovel. I’m concerned about the extra pack weight. Are people carrying lightweight options? Where I hunt it’s pretty rocky, would definitely need something robust and probably a rock bar to be honest.

2. Do you call before you dig? Underground utilities, pipelines, etc.

3. Say I witness one of those you tube hunters shoot one. Does my obligation to help them shovel and shut up outweigh my obligation to report them and post it on the internet cause they’re ruining hunting?

We’re screwed lol we figured it might take a few years for this to happen after they were introduced….. we’ve never heard about wolf sightings in that area but apparently they are here.

First off it’s not introduction. It’s reintroduction. Big difference. Mountain goats in CO are an example of introduction.

Incorrect, by stating this is a "reintroduction" this same wolf subspecies had to have lived in Colorado before but the subspecies native to the Meeker area was the youngi which are extinct, these wolves they are introducing are originally from Jasper National Park which makes them either the occidentalis or mackenzii subspecies which were never native to Colorado.

You'll probably come back with "it's a Gray Wolf so it is native" but subspecies matter with other reintroductions but for "some reason" it doesn't when it comes to the forced introduction of a non-native subspecies of wolf. Colorado CPW is in the process of poisoning with rotenone non-native cutthroat trout subspecies and restocking with the native subspecies, why should wolves be different? And please don't say "wolves and fish? Not really the same thing" it answers nothing, I am speaking to native/non-native subspecies, not a specific species.

As a recent transplant out of the People's Republic of Colorado, I can tell you what Jr doesn't understand is that 90% of the pro-wolf funding that drove that vote came from California and the Sierra Club. Furthermore, most of the front range (where all the votes are concentrated) is liberal and pro-wolf, but conveniently voted for their reintroduction on the western slope and not in RMNP where they like to pet the elk while munching granola in their subarus.

Just do a search, this has been discussed many times. Your obviously going to want something carbon fiber and foldable. They aren’t cheap but It’s worth it. Just E-scout out some rock free areas before you go. Hopefully On-X adds a “soil type” layer soon.

Umm is this a honest question?? Call 811 before you dig!!! It might take a few days and your gonna get phone calls from everyone who’s ever buried any utilities in the last 50 years within 200 miles of your location but better safe then sorry. You might be putting a pretty stinky wolf in a hole but it’s better then hitting an abandon phone line.

Hey buddy, my dad works on underground utilities and I don't appreciate you dissing him like that. I will bury you with my titanium shovel if I ever catch you around my neck of the woods mofo.


Also some of us have kids and have to worry about wolves carrying them off for real. Please don't make light of this situation. My uncles labradoodle was captured off the porch in broad daylight by some wolves on the gila. Chinga el lobos.
