McMillan Mountain Tracker LR - Tikka T3 Dev Project

I just received a call and placed my order. They want to know what cartridge you will be shooting as that apparently impacts the fill they put based on recoil. So a bigger recoiling cartridge I assume will make the stock weigh more.

As one of the original backers I’m a bit miffed as they had originally said that the first backers would be prioritized on orders and we would get our stocks first. I asked about that and they told me I was number 33 even though I actually was like number 3. They said I will get my stock in 4-6 months.

I just talked to Josh and got mine sorted out. Sounds like 4 months is their goal.

That’s my favorite profile 20” and 810 at muzzle. Curious to hear your thoughts on the taperless when you get it. My barrel is not a taperless but I may end up with that profile for a rebarrel.

Got the barrel today from McGowen and dang I really like the contour! 20" 7PRC, modified .810 taperless contour (shortened shank length up 1" so its 2" instead of 3"). 2 lbs 11.5 ozs. I will run this Manners EH1 until the Mountain Tracker LR shows up!

Had double take that. I have a tikka with a 7PRC taperless in the same stock with the same pic/arca rail

Dang, I thought I had the only one! I am looking forward to seeing how the Mountain Tracker LR compares to this EH1 as this has been my favorite stock so far and I have had quite a few. This one has the mini chassis and it is a little heavier than I would like because of that.

My order placed late, so just talked with Josh today. He indicated the mold was a week from completion, then the pilot batch, then production.

He optimistically said 3 months after mold completion

Got mine ordered a couple weeks ago. Went with HEC-Sage and Bart 3b inlet with 2" cylinder length so it should clear most contours easily. Ordered an 8 twist .284 straight fluted .750 taperless blank to be chambered in 7 PRC for this build. I'm glad we got them into production!

Yes, inletted for "T3 receiver and bottom metal", per the description on the Dev Project page.

Really hoping mine is ready before spring bear season! Will be cutting it close. I have seen different timeframes mentioned on this thread. When I talked to them it sounded like maybe as soon as mid-April.
