Maven RS1.2 2.5-15x44 new model

I've got a pack of o rings headed to me and am game to keep the chain going. Pm me if you'd like me to mail it in to you.

Edit: got someone signed up

My RS 1.2 was heading for the shelf, but @Shortschaf sent me some O-rings. Way better now, side by side with a 10 year old ATACR the improved Maven is a little stiffer than the NF. I will take it out and test further, but I will probably keep the Maven for spring bear.

I'm the opposite - don't like the loss of tactlie feedback. I'll probably just switch from carrying spare electrical tape on the barrel to the turret. Never had an issue in the field though and I'm honestly shocked at how this is such an issue that it's causing the hivemind to outright reject the previously crowned best hunting scope available. I still love mine.

🤷‍♂️

I like mine, blasphemy-prob more than the SWFA 3-9. That being said I found one of mine 2.5 mil off zero after a morning hiking around in mild terrain w a bunch of oak brush from rubbing on the pack (among other shifts that hunt). Seems to be 1 of the 3 that was extra prone to spin. I’m perfectly fine with the decreased click sensation if it solves the problem.

I'm surprised that something fixable with tape was reason to stop using it. I actually find it a little amusing.

Yeah, I don't count clicks, so don't care (though even with the thicker o-ring I could count clicks if someone threatened to remove my tacticool timmy card over it).

Same here. Never had it happen. Maybe mine is a little more stuff. I also don't drive around rough roads with the gun uncased in a pile of other stuff, so that also helps I'm sure. I may add a tad of tape though just for insurance.
Now someone please tell me how to fix the crazy stiff parallax without adding a cattail

It is pretty much immovable below 30° for me
Just leave it set at 300 and don't touch it. Swfa3-9 doesn't have one and people shoot that scope real far

Agreed, way more of an issue on my RS1.2’s
I hit the gym until I could bench 200 ... now I can almost get that parallax turning.
I had the same issue, so I made a parallax wheel for it!

Some of them are definitely much stiffer than others on the parallax. Parallax is more critical at close range than it is at distance. The only time I really mess with it is when I'm doing stuff at 100 yards then I set it somewhere between 200 and 300 and forget it exists. I haven't had any issues with the turret but I always carry it with the neoprene cover. I'm excited to see the new shoot to hunt offering but I've been nothing but happy with my Mavens.

Here's a question for the guys that have had this scope for a while and abuse their stuff.
I have the Maven and like it well enough but don't have near the time with it to make me feel comfortable making a judgement call on durability. My primary rifle has an NX8 that I've been beating on for years and it's never faltered. I'm thinking about swapping it with the maven to drop a few ounces. I know the maven has passed the drop tests and is generally considered solid, but NF durable or acceptably durable to a lesser degree? Everyone have the same confidence in it as they would a NF?

I swapped 3 NF to Mavens. No regerts and I’ve fallen on mine several times plus drops onto bare concrete.

Buy with confidence.

Yeah, a fine scope IMO.
I will say the THICK posts on my LRHS2 opened my eyes--I do wish the Maven reticle was little thicker like that

And the new msrp of $1400 is pretty hard to swallow too. Harder to justify over a pair of SWFA 3-9's or 3-15's, an LRHS2, or used market NF

Yeah. You'll like the reticle too.

No- I do not see how any scope other than NF can claim that. The Maven RS1.2 is acceptably durable. They don’t fail in normal hard use.

The Maven RE1.2’s have went through a lot more than a drop “test”- personally I have 5-6 that have went through 2,000+ rounds, and 2 that went more than 3,000 rounds.
