Maven RS1.2 2.5-15x44 new model

Good to hear, thanks. I already have the scope on a rifle and hunted with it a fair amount, just a whole other thing when considering swapping it to my primary rifle.

Thanks, about what I figured
I bent the elevation turret a very small amount nearly right out of the gate drop testing mine on really hard ground. It may have shifted a small amount when I bent the turret... Not sure. I later want to the bench and did a tracking and RTZ test. All good. It's subsequently shot probably nearly 1000 rounds, rough forest roads, etc and I haven't seen a zero shift that was from the scope. I think it's pretty solid

Those that wanted O rings, pm me your address and how many you need and I’ll send them to you. I’ve got about 22.
FYI verdict is still out on them. It’s definitely hard to spin, but kinda mushy now.

Anyone found a way to smooth off the knurling in a semi classy way?

A lathe

So just how big of an issue is this turret? Does it really spin that freely?

I've been wanting to try out the RS 1.2, but if it's something I need to tape, modify, etc, then I'll just spend my money elsewhere.

Part of my (slow, non-full time Special Forces full time pro hunter/killer elite 1%er) process when setting up for a shot is to twist the turret to confirm zero blind, then dial as needed.

I run trail cameras fairly often in awful brush and tons of miles in a soft case and have never noticed the turret being spun. Put a wrap of electrical or hockey tape on this and you’re golden. Or get a free oring. Six months ago this was a non issue and these were still one of the go to scopes. Now it’s a full on crisis 🤣

I sold my NX8’s to run these and don’t regret it one bit. Once the SHTF scope hits the market in a year these scopes will not be the smart buy at their current price. But I’m guessing you’ll see them used here for like $700 or less.

Maybe I take for granted how much I diy, but seriously the effort of changing an Oring or placing a piece of electrical tape ranks up there in difficulty right next to putting scope caps on a scope. Or setting your zero

Mounting a scope is infinitely more challenging than this Oring swap

Having said that I agree they are not worth $1400
Good buy at $1000 though

Considering the price of the S2H scope I think Maven is over priced at 1k. If it had locking turret then I could see 1k.
The only thing I miss about my Leupold MK5HD was those turrets and their locks.

I changed the O ring on my Maven and am undecided on it. I need to spend a season sith it in the woods to get an honest opinion.

It's not a big deal if you shoot flat ranges and just carry the gun from safe to vehicle. It's a big deal when you're carrying it afield or strapping to to a pack, etc.

Yup, 10 second fix.

I agree, there are so many unmounted or unmarked barely used ones for sale for $1000-1050 I wouldn't mess with a new one.

I disagree here about how often it happens, but everyone is different. However, is a quick check that your scope is on zero not part of your shot sequence? I usually have lens caps on as well, so the first thing I do is flip those open, quick twist to check zero, range, dial (maybe) and shoot.

I am not the John Wick of deer catching, but I can't imagine my quick zero check costs more than 100 milliseconds...

So basically anytime I’m hunting haha
Yup. I haven't had a problem at home since I changed the o-rings. I'm bringing 2 of them on a trip soon that will suss out of it works 100% or not. I think it will work. The o-ring makes it stiffer than a SWFA.

Mine has been used as the front line to bust brush in a thick swamp for multiple whitetail seasons now which includes dragging it out of an hanging FHF Rifle case in my back seat probably 500 times. It has also been dragged all around Wyoming on a couple Muley hunts with it strapped to the outside of my pack pushing through brush.

I have yet to have my first occurrence of a turret spinning. Maybe I got a good one but mine is not anywhere near what I’d call easy to spin.

It does have the parallax knob that is making my left forearm grow though.

Interesting to see some having issues and some not.

I have had the 1.2 since last spring with 20+ days of hunting and countless range trips. I did have it spin once while Elk hunting in Colorado this year. I can see how it would be annoying if it happened frequently...
