That is a good explanation. Yeah, not an issue with the scope per se but being aware of the full setup.

Those early xtr3 Burris turrets were like a cheese grater! You sample those??
The nurling on Trijicon’s and NF’s are not remotely as sharp and grabby as the Maven. The Maven’s have the most sharp and aggressive checkering of any scope I have seen.
I haven’t spent a ton of time on horses, but every time I have a scabbard ends up dialing the scope a few clicks. It went in and out a few times before I noticed, so not sure exactly when it happened.

Smaller ID on the Trijicon I suppose. How the turret was when I pulled it out of the truck today-

Swapped the turrets between the Maven and the Trijicon Tenmile-

The Maven RS1.2 with the Tenmile turret takes at least twice the pressure dragging on things to spin it. The Tenmile with Maven turret catches about twice as easy on things as it does with its own turret.
The Trijicon Tenmile’s turrets take more force to spin then the Maven RS1.2, however just getting rid of the 20lpi checking on the Maven makes it significantly more resistant to spinning; and putting the Maven turret in the Trijicon makes it easier to spin from friction.
Seems like a decent application for some tape…How the turret was when I pulled it out of the truck today-

This is my plan.Maybe find a way to chuck it up on a drill and hold a flat file against it to knock it down a little?

I suppose a person could use something to clean the turret really well then put a bead of silicone or caulk over the texture part.
I would recommend hockey tape over the checkering or sanding/filing down the points. Silicone isnt going to stay pitI suppose a person could use something to clean the turret really well then put a bead of silicone or caulk over the texture part.
