Maven RS1.2 2.5-15x44 new model

I suppose a person could use something to clean the turret really well then put a bead of silicone or caulk over the texture part.
I would recommend hockey tape over the checkering or sanding/filing down the points. Silicone isnt going to stay pit

Anyone know a trick on how to "loosen" the Paralax knob just a bit on this scope? Tight is good, but these are almost ridiculous. I have 3 scopes and they are very difficult to adjust. Wondering if there is anything to do.
Just keep working it. They do loosen up over time.

If I’m being honest though, leave it on 200 and shoot away. It hasn’t affected me shooting from 30 yards to well past 1,000 yards just leaving it alone at 200.

I've only got about 600 rounds on my rs1.2 but have had the turret spin multiple times coming out of a case or riding on a backpack. When I went to shoot my elk last year, I went to dial and the turret was already spun, probably just from coming off the pack. Had it been a quick shot without dialing I would have hit high or missed. In thousands of shots on 2x SWFA 3-9s this hasn't happened ever.

I'll probably try the tape under the cap method first or see what others come up with. This rifle/scope will get a lot of use in the next couple months.

I offered a cheap / fast option to agressive checkering. Didn't suggest anything else

If you think Maven should take your scope back or manufacture new turrets and ship them out for free to "fix" this "flaw", by all means email them
I also dont think the flaw is the turrets as much as it is the ease of spinning said turrets. My recommendation to them in the email was to leave the turrets how they are and make it harder to spin them.

Maven RS1.2 2.5-15x44mm or Nightforce SHV 4-14x50mm F1? which is the better option?
Where are you at in CO?

I wrote the homepage review here essentially comparing the RS1.2 to my many tried and true SHVs. https://www.rokslide.com/maven-rs1-2-riflescope-review/

The reticle, 4-5oz difference, and the way the zero stop/set works are the stand out differences to me. Those things matter to some folks a lot, some don't care.

We still own all of the SHVs we had before the RS1.2 arrived, and we have a few RS1.2s as well. Other things worth consideration that may or may not matter to you and are subjective...

-Reputation of brand
-Availability of repair/warranty
-"Proven" ability of the specific models
-In the case of @KickinNDishin (my wife), availability of same model or same reticle models to put on "trainer" rifles.
-Customizable colors

Thanks for that link! I will dive into that review. Let me know if there are more reliable scopes in the 800-1400$ price range i should look at. Im up in Greeley.

If you want to look at the two you asked about side by side at the range, or just borrow them for a bit (with deposit...), I am in Morrison.

I also have fixed SWFA and a new to me LRHS2 on hand.

Frankly, just pick whichever your gut says to pick. The analysis paralysis won't get better by looking through any, and will only go away once you have enough experience to know what you do and don't prefer or what you learned you don't care about at all.

Yeah I understand that. I have Run Vortex Vipers up to this point and now that I have the budget I just want something bombproof that will hold zero. I like the SWFA but i am a MOA guy so that wont work since their only model with a paralax adjustment is MRAD only. Never heard of LRHS2....
