Is this like my loss of innocence where if I stare at it long enough I'll figure out where to stick it?To combat the really freely spinning turret I put a 0.053" Oring under the elevation turret.
Factory looks ~ 0.037" (probably 1mm)
Turret is now a tight fit and won't turn as freely/easily. Closer to an SWFA or Tenmile turret.
If you can score a 0.050" turret I suspect that would be just right. But this is good enough for the girls I go out with
Shared pics of factory oring thickness, groove OD, and turret ID.
You put it where the thinner factory o-ring that you took out was.I'll figure out where to stick it?

Ha, yes what @BBob said. Remove factory Oring and use that spotYou put it where the thinner factory o-ring that you took out was.
1.5mm / 0.060" is too bigThis one might work.

The 3-9HD uses that size. So I robbed one to try it on the Maven. You cannot get the Maven turret on.
0.053" is as thick as I would go. Takes a little coaxing to get the turret on the first time
I stole the oring off of a chinese rimfire scope, so I don't have a specific sku to share. This is what i would buy:https://www.zoro.com/zoro-select-backup-ring-0053w-1080-id-pk100-3gck1/i/G3222292/
Is that the o ring or do you have another source/number you would share?
This one might work.
This is what ended up doing on all of mine was well before Fall.An alternative is a spot of electrical tape inside the turret to tighten it up.
My other scope has had this tape inside for about a year now. I've removed the turret a dozen or so times and the tape hasn't moved or peeled off.
This one is closer to the one that I just pulled off of a Maven. I got an ID of .892 on the factory o ring:
Every time someone posts some ai synopsis I block them. They clearly have nothing of any value to add themselves and have outsourced their actual brain to someone elseOne of these two.
A side rant, because I'm sick of AI slop. I type in 0.75x0.053 o-ring. Googles AI says this matches a standard O38 o-ring size. An O38 is 1/16th, or 0.0625. So, wrong and worthless. Every time someone says xxx AI program says...... I just want to cram a dirty sock down their throat and wrap their face in duck tape leaving only the nose sticking out and tell them to have fun taking it off.
Good catch.Im not sure any of these will work if I am being honest.
All three are rectangular seals, so you have to be careful with "thickness" terms..
