Suggestions on lightweight rain gear. Any suggestions help. Looking for a jacket and pants.
Thank you ! I’ll check it out !Very happy with the M5 stuff from SG. I keep the pants and jacket in a stuff sack, not sure on total weight but light enough to not bother me while still being tough enough to bust brush with.
I’ll give the kuiu a look. Do they have solids in their rain gear ?KUIU Chugach if you can find them used or the Chugach TR. I’ve put mine through a lot and they are still going, but they are expensive.
They have 3 camo patterns and a grey color solid.I’ll give the kuiu a look. Do they have solids in their rain gear ?
^^^Lightest rain gear with all the features (like pit zips) you want.^^^I really like my Sitka Dewpoint, lightweight, packable and fairly durable.
Well most of the use will be in the west. Hunting and hiking. Also would like something that I could use in Alaska.Where are you planning on using the rain gear? How active will you be while wearing the rain gear? What will you be doing while wearing the rain gear.
You can get by with lightweight while sitting in a light rain. You cannot get by wearing lightweight in a monsoon busting brush.
Love it. Thank you.I really like my Sitka Dewpoint, lightweight, packable and fairly durable.
I have the OR a look. Seems like an insurance policy for the most part !I will offer some thoughts. There is lightweight and there is lightweight.
my Beefiest rain gear is 3 layer gortex from Sitka. Heavy and $$$. I set of dewpoints. They are heavy enough to take some brush Busting.
my lightest set is OR helium. They are great insurance in your pack but wouldn’t live up to a lot of hard use. Super light. Not too expensive. Very packable. Great just in case gear but not what I would take if I was expecting more than a bit of rain.
That removes "lightweight" (ex: Kryptek Poseidon) and requires an upgrade (ex: Kuiu Chugach or "heavier").Well most of the use will be in the west. Hunting and hiking. Also would like something that I could use in Alaska.
