I’ll third the OR helium. It kept me dry enough in this season, hiked dry quite easily and it weighs like 6 ounces. Loden color is nice. Not for days on end of rain, but it worked well for in-and-off showers. Exceeded my expectations for sure.
I have a set of OR foray rain gear that’s held up in a solid downpour in SE Alaska. Most likely will be upgrading to SG M5 gear soon as I don’t trust the OR stuff to hold up to the terrain here over time.
The foray gear is a little heavier than the helium, and also has full length side zips on the jacket. Suspenders for the pants are a must, I bought a size up and wear them higher on my waist to keep moisture from seeping down my back if I’m sitting.
