Its possible to just get exactly what you want with a custom order from some companies. Jan at Nunatak gear built me 2 different fully custom items.
The first was a full length zipper ,extra wide Bag that has a draw string opening at the foot. It actually has two zippers so I can turn it into a full quilt, half quilt or just use it as a sleeping bag.
The second was a custom jacket that has a zipper at the hem so I can make custom " skirts " and use it as a sleeping bag or stadium style coat.
Custom will cost more but you can get exactly what you want

I love it! Used it as a sleeping bag with a elephants foot into the 20's the other day , super warm! Best part is wakeing up and just putting some boots on . I never really got out of bed :)

I bet they would add a zipper to the skirt section and make a zip off footbox . That Raku doesn't even show up on their site now. Did you use the 40d or 70d multicam on the parka? How much does that weigh with the skirt? So many questions lol

Yes ,Jan is great to work with and I doubt it will be a problem for the zip off footbox. Ill have it double as wearable skirt when its zipped off.
I went with 70d on the outside and doubled it up on the back.
The jacket by itself weighs 1.8lbs. Its a xl tall with extra features
with the skirt it weighs 2.4 lbs.
My Kifaru LPP half zip in large with no pockets weighs 1,4lbs in comparison .
These are just bathroom scale weights. The Nunatak jacket is a lot warmer

Did you do Apex in the jacket or down? You got the wheels spinning on that setup. I could pull double duty with that setup and cut a lot of pack weight. I love gear that pulls double duty.

I've had the REI Magma 10 for over a year. It's on sale for $270 at REI online right now. Weighs 30 oz. As was said earlier, it has a little less fill than others and is more like a 15-20 degree bag, but has kept me warm into the high teens. Well worth the look for the warmth/weight/price combo.
