Which reticle? The credo reticle? The problem with it is the reticle is terrible
AgreedThe problem with it is the reticle is terrible
That's interesting. As far as reticles go it's certainly not the worst like a x-mas tree. The problem with it is the reticle is terrible

The problem with it is the reticle is terrible
There’s only one for mrad and one for moa for the 2-10x36. I have the mrad but the moa is basically the same. It’s too thin on 2x and too busy on 10x. Otherwise a great scope.A picture of which reticle you have in mind would be helpful here.
Scopes are fun, but…how in the everloving &$!?@!! have you drawn THREE sheep tags in one state?I've only killed 4 North American rams, a NWT MacKenzie Mountains Dall and 3 DIY Montana Unlimited unit Bighorns
Other than the B&C reticle, I'm not sure it was an upgrade from the fixed 6x to the 4.5-14, durability wise.I've only killed 4 North American rams, a NWT MacKenzie Mountains Dall and 3 DIY Montana Unlimited unit Bighorns. The longest shot was 207 yds on the Dall.
All were one shot DRT kills with my .257 Ackley wearing a Leupold 6X, and Sierra 117 gr GameKing bullets.
I recently "upgraded" the scope on that rifle with a Leupold VX3 4.5-14x40 with their B&C reticle.
What's a SWFA?
Many years ago...(in the 1980s).Scopes are fun, but…how in the everloving &$!?@!! have you drawn THREE sheep tags in one state?
I put a 3-x40 Tasco or Weaver, there's no name marked on the scope, on my .30-06 in 1967. The blueing is rubbed off one side of the objective bell from over 20 years of horseback saddle scabbard wear from wilderness and backpack deer, elk, moose, and mountain goat hunts. It's never lost it's zero or had any other problems.Other than the B&C reticle, I'm not sure it was an upgrade from the fixed 6x to the 4.5-14, durability wise.
For those suggesting SWFA, they won't ship to Canada.
What was the landed price for a 3-9 for curiosity?SWFA is pretty easy to get into Canada. Call Prophet River and they’ll get them imported through their partner in the US. It’s expensive and takes some time, but not difficult at all.
I imported a bunch last fall, and then had 3 NIB 3-9 SWFA’s for sale on here & also CGN for 3 months before they sold. Lots of people constantly bellyaching they can’t get SWFA, but it’s not a difficult process.
Mostly people are just super cheap and would rather complain than pay what things cost and go shoot with gear that works. I wish we could just pay US prices, but we can’t.
Just under $1,100 delivered to my house in AB. But I ordered 11 of them so it spread the cost out a bit. What was the landed price for a 3-9 for curiosity?
Good on you for making the effort and jumping through the hoops and I'm glad you ended selling them all but it still comes up to $1100 CAN for $600 US scope. You're almost into Credo HX 2.5-15x42 territory.Just under $1,100 delivered to my house in AB. But I ordered 11 of them so it spread the cost out a bit.
I was selling for $1,100 each and several people reached out to tell me they felt it was too expensive, which is fair enough, but it’s not like I was trying to get rich off these.
The exchange rate sucks now, and the exporter in the US takes a cut, and Prophet River, who are great to deal with but expensive, then shipping from the US, tax (just GST for me in AB) and then shipping from Prophet River to me… so it ends up being expensive for sure.
