That's interesting. As far as reticles go it's certainly not the worst like a x-mas tree.

Specify the reticle by name, its not at all clear which reticle is terrible.

My interpretation of ^^ is he’s referring to the trijocon credo 2-10x36 reticle being terrible. It’s a different reticle than whats available in the 2.5-15 or any of their other scopes as far as I can tell. I wholeheartedly agree with it being terrible, for me at least it is functionally bordering on un-useable as a hunting reticle, and is every bit as bad as the PRS X-mas tree reticles—it IS a tree reticle. Folks who hunt in different areas may find it less bad than I do, but I doubt anyone will say it’s really what they want. @Hnthrdr I know you have a different reticle aesthetic than many, but I think its fair to say that while you and I may be on opposite ends of the reticle spectrum, very few people find those reticles “good”.
In any case, it’s still more $$$$ than the op is looking for, and imo at that price there’s other better options, so not sure it gets him anywhere.

There’s only one for mrad and one for moa for the 2-10x36. I have the mrad but the moa is basically the same. It’s too thin on 2x and too busy on 10x. Otherwise a great scope.

I've only killed 4 North American rams, a NWT MacKenzie Mountains Dall and 3 DIY Montana Unlimited unit Bighorns. The longest shot was 207 yds on the Dall.

All were one shot DRT kills with my .257 Ackley wearing a Leupold 6X, and Sierra 117 gr GameKing bullets.

I recently "upgraded" the scope on that rifle with a Leupold VX3 4.5-14x40 with their B&C reticle.

Many years ago...(in the 1980s).

Some 500 and 300 Units just north of Yellowstone NP (there are still 5 Units this year) that FWP sells unlimited tags in each unit, but hunting in each unit closes on 48 hr notice after the unit quota (2) is reached in that unit.

Most of these units are in Wilderness Areas where access is limited.

I put a 3-x40 Tasco or Weaver, there's no name marked on the scope, on my .30-06 in 1967. The blueing is rubbed off one side of the objective bell from over 20 years of horseback saddle scabbard wear from wilderness and backpack deer, elk, moose, and mountain goat hunts. It's never lost it's zero or had any other problems.

In 1977 I put that Leupold 6x on my .257 Ackley. I packed that rifle and scope on all of my horseback and backpack sheep hunts (not all were successful in killing a ram), along with over 40 years of almost annual deer and antelope hunts, without ever having a scope problem.

Since 2000 I've put Leupold scopes on 6 rifles from .223 up to 7mm RM, .300 Wby, and .375 RUM and used them on 13 international and 2 Alaskan hunts, again without ever having a scope problem with any of them.
