Factory 110 ELDX out of the rifle above. Less than 10 rounds down the tube when I shot that group. Shoots a little better with 115 VLDs over H1000. 1” dot.

This one started off as a 5r in 308. Action was trued and rebarreled with. 24" Kreiger Sendero profile 1-8" twist chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. HS stock, HS bottom metal, and Trigger Tech trigger. Shoots in the .2 with 140 hybrids and 130 Gamechangers. I've shot a lot of local matches and killed a lot of game with this rifle. Another laser build by Apache Machine and Custom. It's had a McMillan M5 and an XLR chassis. Back in the original HS stock. I've shot the hell out of this rifle.image.jpg

700 action on its 3rd barrel. Nothing better for blind mags and COAL length. This one has a K&P cut rifle barrel chambered in 240W.

Edit for Creed what?'s question:
Does anyone have any advice on finding a Remington 700 action cheap, like $400 range?

Yes, can find for around $450 if you stay on top of popular forum classifieds.

Advice: The big problem with a 700 action is they're mass produced and often a bit crude, so you might need to pay another $400 + time/trouble to get the slop out of them before adding a fancy new barrel.

List of considerations based on rifle in photo:
  • square the receiver
  • square the bolt face
  • lap bolt lugs
  • replace firing pin assembly
  • most receiver tops aren't even, so bed the scope rail or base
  • striker pin bushing thread into bolt face
  • dress up with bolt knob/flute bolt/paint/pic rail
Once you add all of that up, the price for a Defiance Tenacity or Bighorn Origin action starts making sense. Can get a new-in-box Origin for $800. The action is stainless, salt-nitride treated + includes pic rail, fluted bolt, and bolt knob. There is nothing to do to an Origin. Tenacity ends up $300 more because they cost a bit more + must pay additional to treat the bolt steel and receiver. Hope this helps! :)

Two questions. Can someone post a picture of a mesa with a barrel nut on the barrel wanna make sure it will fit in the stock.

Also, why do most of these directly threaded barrels and some have a remage nut. Is that just based off proper head spacing? Or the difference in smith with a lathe and a prefit. Thanks

I don't have a pic of mine handy, but I have a 260 Remington Remage build with a PVA barrel nut. You will need to do a bit of modification to get it to fit perfectly, but it isn't hard.

Mine is an original 700 Ti in 280.

Had Dan Coffin spin a Lija bbl, dupe factory contour, fluted, and bedded into a Micky Remington Hunter with edge fill.

With the scope, 7.5lbs ready to roll.

And of course like all Dan's rifles, shoots lights out.
