My first was an Ithaca single shot lever action .22. Got it when I was seven. I have no idea what happened to that rifle. With two little bros, who knows.

Red Ryder for Christmas at the ripe old age of 10 (circa 1978). Dad wanted to be sure that I was old enough, and responsible enough to have it, in order to use it on some of these larger predators.

1957 22cal Crossmen pump BB gun. I’ve had the seals replaced twice and shoots great.

I actually found it under some insulation in the attic of the first home I bought 23 years ago. I understood the previous owner had a few sons so I’m assuming one of them almost got their eye shot out and the father hide it from them.

Never owned a BB gun as a kid. My weapon of choice was a wrist rocket sling shot and birds and squirrels feared me:)

Had a crosman 760 that I got at 8 years old, so somewhere around 1999/2000. I shot the shit out of everything I could with that gun. The only things that were off limits according to my mom was robins and killdeer...what she doesn't know wont hurt her. It wasn't long after I got it that my grandma would turn me loose on the four wheeler and let me go anywhere I really wanted it. 1000s of BBs through that gun and 100s of miles on that old Kawasaki Bayou 220 made for a pretty good childhood.

760 was the magnum of bb guns. Wonder how many critters have expired due to them? They were THE one to have for sure.

A pellet gun, not a BB gun, but still the same category. Mine was a Hy Score. Dad got it for me back in 1978. Managed to shoot all sorts of little critters. My son also managed to learn using this one as well

From left to right, my dad's daisy (circa 50's), my Crossman 766 (probably circa 1982), a Red Ryder found at my mom's house that my kids use (seems to be some sort of 1988 anniversary edition). My kids are actually watching "A Christmas Story" as I type this (for about the fifth time this year).

I remember taking out a crow the was on top of a phone pole a cross the street with 30/40 all setting on the wires with my 760.
30 pumps or so and I got him under the Beak and blew the top of his head off. The blood spattered and all the other crows started circling my house cawing and getting lower and lower it was like the movie the Birds.
Great BB rifle

Daisy model 1894 Winchester

I still love shooting it

as a kid I broke it shooting bamboo skewers out of it. SMH. As an adult I tracked down a fella in MN who worked on them. He sent me a part and told me what to do. Been shooting great since

The Birds was filmed just down the road from where I was raised.

Couldn’t tell you but I know I shot a lot of animals with mine. My grandparents had grain silos that they rented out. Grain season was a good time. I wrecked so many pigeons and doves from the coal pile they had.

Another Red Ryder here. I got it for Christmas as a 4 year old and, despite there not being another house within BB gun range (or .22 for that matter), promptly shot out a window. I learned the important lesson of knowing what’s beyond your target.

I had a Red Ryder, then a Daisy pellet gun, then a Crossman (unknown model just know you could pump it 10 times or so). I used to stand in the Walmart Sporting goods section and dream of the high priced air rifles when I was little. Then dad decided I was worthy of a 22.

Killed a ton of European Starlings and Sparrows with those BB/pellet guns. I thought they got tossed but discovered last week that dad still uses the Crossman to take care of yard squirrels stealing his bird food.
