All,

Just wanted to pass along a rifle that I just became aware of. It looks like they just opened the business recently. Last night I was watching a bear hunting show on the Sportsmen's Channel. The hunter was using a Legendary Arms Rifle. I'd never heard of this company before. I checked out their site, and it appears that they have some pretty impressive stats including an MOA Guarantee and lifetime warranty. On their site, they have a stock rifle comparison chart between their rifle, Sako, Nosler, Kimber, Cooper, HS Precision, McMillan, and Christensen Arms. It doesn't look like they do custom options offering only an out of the box rifle.

I was recently on the market for a new rifle, but I have a Cooper Excalibur on order. If I would have known about these guys, I might have taken a chance on them.

Gday Orion,

From what I've read online they look very promising. They are essentially a custom rifle - CRF, ceracoted, removable break, fluted bolt and barrel and bedded in a high quality stock. On top of that the MOA guarantee and warranty tops it off. I'm in the process of importing 'the professional' model in 300WM into Australia as they are not available here. I believe in future they will be doing custom orders.

I'm keen to hear from anyone who has handled one or shot one.

Did you notice their warranty concerning type of ammo used. Looks like it only applies if factory ammo is used - no reloads or imported ammo.

My warranty would be voided when I lit the first primer.

I believe a number of manufacturers warranties are void if you use hand loads. They have no control over the load you prepare so how could they warrant it?

Anyone on this site had one of these rifles in their hands yet. They look nice, but would be nice to get some direct feedback. A dealer in Montana or Idaho would be nice as well.

I have been in contact with a few of their dealerships and so far none that I have spoke to have any in stock. They look like they are really well built and became aware of them after I read an article by Bodington and he spoke highly of it.

Looks like a promising alternative to the Kimber even if it's a touch heavier than the Kimber. I do with they offered a few options but maybe that will come in time. I'm not a fan of spiral fluted bolts, they just seem rough to me when working the bolt with any speed (granted I dont have a lot of experience with them).

I got sick of waiting for reviews so I have ordered a Professional in 300WM. I'll post a review when I get it.

Those of you that really know your guns what are your thoughts on the twist rates for the calibers? Specifically the 300 win mag

I ordered a Bansner Ultimate Ovis and got caught in the transition and ended up with a Legendary Arms Professional in .280 AI. I've run about 18 rounds through it and it is a shooter. Fit and finish is fantastic. Overall, a very nice rifle.

They look like very promising rifles but I have not handled one yet. From the dealers I've spoken with I'm hearing late July rifles should hit shelves. I plan to have one.

any new info on these rifles? liking either a LAR professional in 300 wm or one of the new kimber ascents in 300wm, both have similar weights within an ounce and both 1/10 barrels and both same price. although a 24'' barrel on the LAR and a 26'' on the kimber........

I ordered a Bansner Ultimate Ovis and got caught in the transition and ended up with a Legendary Arms Professional in .280 AI. I've run about 50 rounds through it and it is a shooter. Fit and finish is fantastic. Overall, a very nice rifle. My only gripe was with how I was kind of left in the dark in the transition between Bansner and Legendary Arms. To summarize: I ordered a rifle from Mark Bansner. After working with Mark for several months, things went cold and didn't hear anything on my build. Next thing I know I get a call from a guy at Legendary Arms saying Mark is out and he was in charge of my build. A couple months later my contact with Legendary was gone and Mark was back on my build working for Legendary. It all worked out in the end and I presume the problems I had were due to the transition, but there were several months went by whereby I had no clue what was going on with my rifle. In the end, my rifle showed up and it is very nice. Just a very different experience from what I've experienced with other custom builders.

Glad you like the gun. I'd be a little upset if that kind of bait and switch was pulled on me, but to each their own.
