KUIU Ultra 6000 Pack - Short video by Robby Denning

In fairness the Mystery Ranch packs harnesses are held in place by velcro as well and I think everyone can agree they are pretty bomber.

It's all in the design and the way its attached. Look at Stone Glacier. I've run as much 120 lbs for several hours as a tear test on the velcro of my Stone Glacier when I first got it and it didnt slip a bit on the velcro. The Kuiu attaches in a similar fashion except uses a plastic bit to lock the upper strap in place ratherthan a piece of strapping as the stone glacier does. Both seem to work well and by design i dont feel much of the weight is pulling outward on those minor points when the pack is properly fitted and set. Industrial velcro is some pretty tough stuff.

Unless this frame is significantly weaker than the previous model, it will do way more than day hunts. I have a 2012 icon and I have beaten the piss out of it with no issues at all. The plastic lock is only there to allow the straps to move up and down but not left and right. I picked my pack up many times by the strap with the pack loaded and the velcro is not an issue.

jasons got a couple of stress test photos up on his insagram, running the frame over with a car, using it as a pull up bar. looks like they really want to show that the frame issues were a thing of the past. if the frame holds up this could be a real homerun for kuiu

They almost have me convinced to try an Ultra if only they had put a power pull on the belt. After using packs with them for years I cannot imagine not having one with a heavy load.

With the way the frame design is, it looks like the 2012 and 2013 suspensions will attach to the Ultra frame.

Any ideas how this frame will fit a long Torso (22")? I'm in the market for a pack that actually fits and the Ultra 1800 sounds perfect for a quality day pack.

I also pre ordered the 1800

Durzil, theres two diff length frames i believe to fit most if not all torso lengths.

I'm excited about the KUIU Ultra 1800 and based upon the product specs I've seen as well as the customer service I'm seeing from KUIU I'll be purchasing my first KUIU product. I'm curious about the price of the Ultra 1800 as well as Ultra 3000. Guess I'll find out Tuesday at the unveiling.
