Interested in the PMR-30. I know several folks here use them Are people running them stock or are you guys adding the MCARBO upgrades (metal feed ramp, improved plastic buffer, etc).

I like the idea of the Kel Tec. The light weight makes me think it would be just about perfect for most outdoor stuff. The M&W 22 magnum also looks nice but is heavier. It is a little concerning when MCARBO sells like $200 worth of "fixes" to Kel Tec "known issues," but maybe that's just MCARBO marketing.

I’m at about 1500 rounds through mine with no upgrades. About every 200-400 rounds, I pull off the slide and spray it all down with brake cleaner and then lube. Have never run a brush through the bore. Works fine as long as use at least 40 gr bullets. Don’t worry about upgrades, just buy one and shoot it.

I also carry mine in the field, it's super light and can hold 30 rounds, and fun to shoot, only issues I've had was because I didn't clean it for a while. I am waiting for an aftermarket upgrade though: a FRT.

Had one since they came out...its my farm carry gun...lost a few front sites, holster issue. Had to replace the buffer.
No idea on round count over 2k. I have used it to kill probably a dozen hogs off the tractor. Still carry it every day.

Wish you could put a can on it.

I love my cans but not so much on handguns. That said, if there ever was a handgun that could use a can, it’s that one. It definitely barks. Also agree on replacing the buffer. I am getting close to exhausting my first 2k round purchase and am going to order a few buffers to keep around. Have not replaced one yet though. The PMR 30 is just a dandy thing to carry around and is low recoil. I tore a wrist ligament about a year ago that is not really reparable and have to get steroid shots for it every couple of months. So this little ugly KelTec is now more than 90% of my handgun shooting.

Shooting it a night is the only reason I want to put a can on it.
