I've been thinking about getting a can for my 22lr. Anyone know if a Thunderbeast Ultra 7 will effect my PIO?I've heard of a lot of guys that developed a serious flinching problem shooting an un-braked .22LR. Its all about shot placement, and what you can shoot well!

We have shot a couple boxes of those and they are pretty amazing. Awesome penetration. THey even cycle my 10/22I get that you jokers think it's fun to pretend a 40gr hollowpoint will kill elk, but why chance it. Some one might stumble on this thread and not recognize the humor. If you're trying to kill anything bigger than a coyote just use these. They hit like a hammer and sting like lightning...

hmmm, that's a great question that might require it's own thread. I'll hit the mods and swing back. in the meantime, whatever you do, don't try five pumpsHey guys I’m on a budget and can’t afford to get into the .22 game right now. Going to run the trusty ol’ Crosman air rifle. Do you think I need to step up to 4 pumps? I normally use 3 and don’t want to learn a new ballistic profile if I can avoid it. TIA.
I should mention that I am recoil sensitive and if I need to use a larger caliber I will, but I don't want much more recoil.
I beg to differ with you man... at least with my .17 HMR... the precision is surgical. I'm going straight thru his eye to brain cavity if quartering to, just in front of ear hole if broadside.A .22 doesn’t give the quarry enough of a sporting chance. I’m more of a traditionalist and prefer to take my slingshot or boomerang when I’m chasing elk. All these new fangled .22s and .17s are gonna ruin the sport of it. It’s time for folks to go back to the old ways. Just my 2¢
You're gonna need a Magnum class Break-barrel there man. They get very close to .22 velocities. My Umarex Octane, there's vids on YT of them clocking 930-950fps real-world velocities with like around 16gr projectiles. A PCP would be even better though.Hey guys I’m on a budget and can’t afford to get into the .22 game right now. Going to run the trusty ol’ Crosman air rifle. Oh so what... you're gonna hate on us new-school cats that up our rock game with leather-strap rodeo swing David-v-Goliath slingshots? What a purist snob man. (hehe)As I get older, I get less and less interested in threads like this.
Everyone these days thinks you need sitka gear and a new-fangled 22lr to hunt elk. It's a never-ending hamster wheel of hedonistic adaptation.
I'm old school and like to keep it simple. Plenty of elk have been killed by guys throwing rocks and wearing untanned loincloths.
That old gear is good enough for me. The reason I go hunting in the first place is to forget about all these modern distractions like agriculture and symbolic language.
